  • I used to work here back in 2008-2009 when management was top-notch. The return policy was world-renowned. Two words: "customer satisfaction." We used to return products after they had been used for months. I remember when customer service exchanged a pair of boots that had been worn for a year and still had mud & debris on them. Another example was a man who brought in a product for a return that we didn't even carry. It was from Bass Pro, but customer service gave him his money back anyway! I worked at the gun counter, and it was always crazy busy. Outfitters were everywhere on the sales floor throughout their departments and provided excellent customer service. With the new management, that has ALL gone by the wayside.
  • Today was my last trip to Cabela's. In May, I tried purchasing a canopy tent. When I got to the register to pay for it, they told me the price was marked incorrectly and tried charging me $100 over what it was marked. Today, I went to purchase a buddy heater. It was displayed on an end cap for $84, on sale from $104. When I got to the register, they rang it up for $104. By the time I walked back to the end cap they had taken down the sale price and acted like It never happened. After complaining to the manager, she did offer to honor the $84, but I'd rather go purchase the item at Bass Pro at this point.
  • My dad brought me here all the time as a kid and I always loved it... The sights, the assortment of product, the friendly staff too! They have a massive selection of firearms that can be purchased and taken home same day, and the people working the gun counter are very friendly and knowledgeable. Shame to see this company bought out!
  • Cabela's is fun store to wander around in with the kids. If you've never been there, it's worth a visit for a few minutes of free entertainment. They've got a nice walk through aquarium and lots of "stuffed" animals to look at (as in real animals that have been hunted and mounted - my kids call it the "dead zoo"). The animal mountain in the center of the store is always an interesting conversation piece. The firearms section is really the best part of the store. They have a good selection and reasonable prices, but buying a gun here takes forever. Everything else in the store is extremely overpriced. Service here is less than great too. Not very friendly or outgoing employees.
  • Amateur comedy at the gun shop! The sales accociate, tried to put the bolt action in the rifle? He could not do it. Nether could the customer. I had to show them, how to cock the bar, on the bolt. To get it to slide into the gun. It came like that from the factory. The junk from this store, you will end up leaving at home. Once you gain some skill.
