  • I was on Oahu for over a week and spent the entire time hiking. This was, by far, the quietest most peaceful experience I had. And it was free.  more »
  • I don't really call this place a garden, they have no flowers! Only trees, no wonder it's free entrance. we did see a mongoose and that was the highlight of the garden for me. Nice ground for picnics ...  more »
  • We stopped in one afternoon for a little visit. What a shame we didn't plan more time here. The time we spent was not enough. There was much more to see and we stayed until they closed the Garden for ...  more »

  • Great place to relax and enjoy your lunch during the week if you're on the windward side. All camping permits are processed online now. $32 as of May 2017 for 3 cars and 10 people. Spots fill up fast!
  • Wow. Barely anyone was here! This place is stunning. You can walk in pretty much anytime but you have to wait til 9am if you want to drive in. Tons of different areas you can park, lots of picnic options, lots of bathrooms... I walked the road to each spot. My favorite was the view from the lake. Walk halfway around it and turn around to checkout the view! Oh, and the birds and fish will come right up to you :)
  • The view of the spires and ridges bordering the park are beautiful. Also, the bird watching area at the reservoir is a good place for families. Do note that the ground is slightly muddy especially after rain, so bring a mat!
  • Lovely gardens, easy walks, gorgeous views of Ko'olau Mountains. A great place for families & those not ready for hiking, yet wanting to be close to nature. Peaceful, beautiful.
  • Great place for simple hiking. Be prepared for some mud. The kids loved feeding the ducks and fish.
