  • Take a stroll through the gardens. Be sure to climb up to the observation point -- beautiful view of bay and the mountains.
  • We drove out to the garden because it is a state park supposedly showcasing the flora of Hawaii. We stopped at the first stop and got a map and walked down to the fish pond. The path was well maintain...  more »
  • This is worth checking out if you are already in the area. Admission is free. It was muddy when I was there, so we did not make it down to the lake. They do have 3 or 4 feral pigs in the area, which a...  more »

  • Nice, low key park. I love that they keep cars out between 4 pm - 9 am daily. During those hours, the park still remains open to pedestrians and bicyclists via the pedestrian entrances in both the main and rear entrances (and also campers during the weekend). The stream and loop trails are nice, but can be muddy, especially the stream trail, where there is also some downed vegetation. These trails connect to the pond, which they close the east part off except to fishing, 10 am - 2 pm.
  • So beautiful here, what a great escape from the hussle of the city. Great lake there. You can rent a foshing pole on the weekend and take your kids fishing. They also allow camping
  • Very beautiful area. One minute you are in the city and the next you are surrounded by nature. Definitely a place to go when you need to get away and reconnect with nature. :)
  • Great place to spend a day with the family. Lots of nature paths throughout the gardens and most plants labeled. The fishing is always a hit with the kids since you are using a bamboo pole. Just know that it is catch and release.
  • What a fabulous place. Lush tropical plantings, a lake, and picnic areas all set against those fantastic mountains.
