  • It's so pretty here. We spent a wonderful morning wandering the grounds at the temple. Parking is a bit tight if it starts to get crowded. We got lucky and left just before the crowds were coming.

  • Very cool temple to visit in the North side of Oahu here. The atmosphere is beautiful and the architecture of this temple is unreal. Definitely worth checking out if you're in this side of the island.

  • While I only rated it 4 stars, I find it a great attraction to experience. I've been several times. Sometimes the lady working is a little grumpy, but when she's in a good mood she is so great. A wealth of knowledge. Personal opinion they need more direct signage in some spots to prevent line cutters and such. Don't forget to visit the pond after and admire the beautiful black swan. The shop closes earlier before the temple does. You can get bird and fish feed there. Overall it's a beautiful place.
  • This is beautiful, peaceful place, good parking, market across to have some food, there is $5 ticket per person. The gong sounds are calming. Fish ponds are filled with beautiful fishes. There is a cat family, very friendly and nice to pet. Small shop and clean bathrooms. Beautiful place to take pics and walk around if you are in the area.
  • So beautiful, this place is probably skipped over by tourists who don't know, or don't have the means to travel to it. But it is worth every penny of the small admission fee. It's truly beautiful and all of the workers/volunteers are very nice and will help with anything you need. There isn't much to do here, it's more of a site for viewing so maybe not for small children especially as loud talking or behavior is frowned upon. This truly is almost an exact replica from Kyoto, breathtaking.
  • Awesome temple. Don't mind people saying it's touristy. If you are visiting Hawaii -- seeing things is what you're here to do! Sure, it's a replica of the 1,000-year-old temple in Japan. The pretty reasonable $5 price for admission pays for the cost of upkeep. You could spend about an hour here messing around and posing for photos, and that's what a lot of people visiting are doing as well. Cats, koi, zebra doves, chickens, and black swans roam the grounds and make this place a beacon of tranquility. On top of that there's a cool gong to hit, an opportunity to light up some incense and make a prayer. Fish food sold for a pretty reasonable $2 and the fish go wild. Be sure to feed some of the fishes on the far side of the temple, they don't appear to get as much love as the intuitive ones closest to the gift shop.
  • This place is amazing. Very peaceful Buddhist Temple surrounded by Koi ponds. There are peacocks and even a black swan. The sound of the gong being struck as people enter centers your chi and relaxes the mind. We made our way into the replica temple and made offerings at the foot of a huge Buddha. The gift shop has many charms and miniature statues. Though some are a bit pricey, you get your money's worth for sure. This was the best stop on our tour by far. Would recommend everyone go see this place. It's beautiful.
