  • My husband and I spent a night at the castle for our Belated anniversary trip and we really enjoyed it! The castle is gorgeous, the staff is very friendly, and the food was delicious. We purchased the Romance VIP package which included champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, a 7 course dinner, breakfast in bed, a tour of the castle, and a couples' massage. We felt very spoiled! I'm rating it a little lower than a 5 because I would have liked for the tour to discuss more history about the castle. We also had a leak in our room; this of course is forgivable because it was tended to right away and after all, the castle is over 100 years old.
  • I stayed in the new bed and breakfast, it was what we expected based on the reviews we read. There were little maintenance issues everywhere, like, wallpaper peeling, paint chipped, door trim chipped, etc. It felt like we were staying in a home though which was nice. We called the front desk several times with no answer and so we went to the desk and no one was there. There was a lot of confusion as to what was available/complementary to guests. It seemed like there was a lot of new staff that wasn't sure how to answer questions. It has a lot of potential if they just made it a little more like a hotel. Also they should call it Henderson Mansion Inn, it hardly feels like a castle on the inside, and its a stretch to say it looks like a castle from the outside. Okay on to the positive- the staff was all very friendly and nice, and they tried their best to be helpful. The sauna on the third floor and the hot tub on the roof are a must! Simply amazing to be up there as the sun goes down. The soaps, conditioners, and lotions they have smell amazing. The breakfast was a great price for three small courses and the way they presented it was extra special, and had impeccable timing. Breakfast is also available on the porch. The grapes on the hill and winery are a very nice touch, we were sad to leave but I am not sure I would take anyone there that I was trying to impress.
  • Pleasant experience, the food was good but to call a seven course with what we were served was a little lacking. Too long of time waiting between courses. A talented young woman played the piano in our dining room, but it was loud unfortunately. Then in the other half of the dining room that was not divided with anything other than painted stand up screens was the Dinner Murder Mystery. The commotion and loud conversations with that made table conversation near to impossible. The loudness gave my husband a ringing headache. At one point I really considered requesting another table in a differ room, but then decided against it. We were given a generous gift certificate as an anniversary present and we had decent time, but felt once was enough to visit. Interesting place. Other reviews indicate that some things at the Castle need attention. We felt the grounds though somewhat attractive could be so much more with not a lot of work. I would not want to pay big bucks for a wedding there.
  • I could not give 5 stars due to the fact that the ROOF TOP hot tub was out of service!! The hot tub was supposed to be the "icing on the cake" for my surprise birthday stay. I feel we should have been notified prior to our stay (I had to PAY IN FULL when I booked 2 MONTHS PRIOR). If nothing else, a slight discount on the $254 per night fee might have been offered. And since they were informed that it was a birthday celebration, they could have offered a small gesture, such as a note... or better yet, saying happy birthday upon arrival. As for the food.....5 stars. Wait staff did very well given the fact that they were servicing more table than they should have. The castle itself was very beautiful. We loved our room.
  • Enjoyed a wonderful Father's Day dinner at the Henderson Castle yesterday. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and it was fun to get to take a tour of the place. The rooftop looked awesome and had an incredible view of the city. It had just been completely redone and has a brand new hot tub.
