  • The nature center is definitely off the beaten path and offers a quiet walking area. There is wildlife on display and specialty art fairs during the year as well.  more »
  • Love going to the Kalamazoo River but every trail is a prize winner. So many programs for families and seniors. Classes and volunteering. Someday I'll do some bird banding.  more »
  • Very nice trails for 4 to 6 hours walk. Start at the nature center, check out the bird in the cages (injured and recovering/recovered), walk through nice maintained paths through hardwoods and gently ...  more »

  • The nature center is a great location to jump onto the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail. It is FREE parking if you will be using the trail. If you plan to go into the nature center it is a $7 fee for adults and $4 for children. The hiking/biking trail has several large hills and will give you a challenge if you don't go out often.
  • Very amazing place to visit. The trails and picnic areas are very well kept. I've been coming here for many years and I don't plan to stop. The butterfly thing is super cool. The bug exhibits are very educational. The animals are great. The staff is always helpful. I came here for school field trips when I was am elementary school goer. We removed invasive plants and got to learn so many things. The summer programs here are so amazing. The homestead is so cool, there is so much to learn there. The streams are super nice, sometimes there are water snakes. I liked to pick a leaf of jewel-weed when I was a kid and put it in the water to see the silver glare. I would absolutely recommend this place to absolutely anybody.
  • On an unusually chilly May day (we saw snow falling), we hesitantly decided to have our family outing at the KNC. I can't express how favorably impressed I am with this facility! The indoor center is fun for all ages and the hiking trails are well maintained. We had a wonderful time and hope to go again--hopefully in warmer temps!
  • I believe that Cathie and I were the first couple to get married here! 9-16-1967
  • Best nature center ever. Lots of hiking trails and friendly staff. Especially Dave Brown. He is pretty much the smartest naturalist ever. You should talk to Dave if you have ANY questions.
