  • There wasn't much for food around, so we pulled in here and thought it was great food and it sits perched next to the crouching lion rock overlooking the bay.  more »
  • Having done the popular hikes on Oahu, we decided to try some of the less "touristy" ones. Finding the trailhead for the hike can be a bit of a challenge as there really isn't any official marker or a...  more »

  • Amazing views from up top, and you get some good exercise on the climb up. Take the path right after the "do not pass" sign. That one will take you straight to crouching lion. Wear good shoes and watch your step!
  • Little effort for a great reward! This hike has amazing views with just a quick 30min hike up. Park by the cars on the south side around Kahana Bay beach. Enter at the 2nd sign and follow the paths. We entered at the 1st sign from the parking this time and we ended up taking a longer way to the top. It all connected and looped around. So no harm done. Beautiful views!!! Be careful as it is a steep hike so take your time!
  • This part of the mountain used to be landfilled with trash... 2013 a group of us decided to take action almost 1 year and many dump runs later we planted coconut trees lillikoi avocado pappya and added a rope path that complets the horse shoe trail..
  • A beautiful and rewarding hike. Could take around 1-1.5 round trip depending on your pace and how long you wanna seat and enjoy the view. It can be a bit risky, but as long as you watch your steps and make your movement carefully, you are good. Get ready to crawl on all four at times. The view is breathtaking. The pictures do not tell the whole story, you have to experience it for yourself. There are two entry points (that I know of). One is where they have the "no entry" signs and a 2nd non official patch (marked by pink ribbons on branches) about 50 meters north along the road from the signs. I would suggest going up the 2nd path and down the 1st one.
  • Quick and relatively easy. One of my favorite hikes on the island.
