  • What a great park. Spent a couple nights at William Heise County Park this July with our family and had a terrific time! Our cabin was super clean and well maintained, as were the restroom and shower facilities. Hiking trails were well marked and we all had a great time. The ranger staff was very helpful and talked with us about the wildlife and park history. Would happily return.
  • Great easy get away. Cabins are fun. lots of great hiking for all skill levels. Very nice facility. Can get packed on holiday weekends. Easy drive into Julian from there. Never had a bad time with the exception of one lady ranger that was very rude, but just stayed away from her. Other rangers have always been awesome, so the bad one was trumped.
  • This is an amazing place to camp. The forest is so pretty and there's lot's of scenery and hiking trails. There's gorgeous sunsets and sunrises and it's overall just a great place to be. In the summers it gets a little hot but it's no big deal. The nature is pretty and you can see so many stars at night. There's local fishing not too far and you can go get pie in Julian and bring it back. Sometimes you'll see wild turkeys and deer walking around which is nice.
  • Great clean and fyn state park showers and bathrooms ay ground wifi and plenty of hikes to go on up hill hikes to great well kept rangers were so helpful...we will be back of cabin retroom and showers were clean i must say
  • W.Heise is the best for families, for those that enjoy moderate trails and choices in campground scenery and location. Exceptionally clean restrooms, attentive Park Rangers. Because the park is set up so well and the Rangers really seem to look happy to be there, the visitors that use the campground consistently keep their part in keeping it clean, safe and as quiet as any place - anywhere in SoCal. Our family has stayed here about ten times in 3 yrs.
