  • A simple location commemorating the life of an American sports hero of Sac, Fox, and Potawatomi, French, and Irish heritage. Thorpe was born in 1887/1888 and died in 1953. The memorial with statuary is located in the eastern part of Jim Thorpe, well away from the main tourist center and county buildings on the west side of the Lehigh River. Follow Route 903 North signs from downtown.
  • Great spot to pull over to call your friend for directions. My phone didn't have cell service driving up from here.
