  • We love coming to this mine. Found plenty of crystals & the staff is very friendly. Sunscreen is a big must have along with clothes you don't mind getting dirty & sturdy shoes
  • DO NOT go to this mine in a regular car. I have rock chips and am totally bummed I wasted my time. Terrible road going up. No water except if you buy it. No water to rinse crystals. Not good for child...  read more »

  • The reviews do not do this place justice. Make sure you go to this location. This shop is awesome! The ladies that work there are so very nice and helpful. The store is loaded with some of the most unique mineral items, rock collecting kits and the like that it is very overwhelming. That's just the start, because they have these tables outside that are loaded with the best choice of minerals and crystals and glass at fantastic prices. There is a reason they have been in business as long as they have and this must be the reason. Great merchandise, great prices, and a great selection to choose from. The wife a girls enjoyed their visit and we will definitely be back. Great job Coleman's!
  • $10 age 10 and over. Stop at store first to get directions. Not hard to find. Tip: you have to go up a steep hill on a dirt road, which can be slippery. Don't stop once you start and you will be fine.
  • We were really excited about the mine but what isn't mentioned anywhere is that the three miles of rock roads to get to the mine might be impossible for a car to get through. There was running water over the road in a few spots and others were extremely washed out and rutted. We almost made it there until we came upon a steep washed out hill and couldn't make it any further. Luckily we were able to get a full refund. Just keep in mind you may need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the mine.
  • Amazing!!! I have been here numerous times as a child and adult.I definitely will keep the tradition going
  • I'm docking it one star because it was a much more difficult journey out there than we were led to believe and the bathrooms were unacceptable. It's an outhouse and unflushable. We let our children go in the woods instead. Other than that we had a really nice time once we finally got up there and found lots of crystals in about two hours without any trouble at all! Our kids (6 and 3) loved it...just climbing and digging in a HUGE pile of rocks and dirt was a hit for them- finding treasures was just a bonus! The woman who greeted us and gave us instructions was very nice and enhanced our experience. She loaned us a little dump truck for our 3 year old to play with in the dirt. Crystal-wise we came out with lots of pretty little crystals and a few clusters. Our kids lasted about two hours and we managed to fill a couple of big buckets in that time. Even in August, we were there from about 9-11am and the heat wasn't bad. It was in the 80s when we left. Pack a snack and drinks if you go- there's a picnic table so you can take a break and refresh! In addition to food and drinks, we were also glad we had a three-pronged garden tool, good-fitting gloves and a bucket!
