Oklahoma Aquarium, Jenks

(650 reviews on the web)
Zoo / Aquarium Nature / Park
Look for biggest bull sharks in captivity at Oklahoma Aquarium, as you walk through the underwater tunnel that was once featured during Discovery Channel's Shark Week. Feed otters, beavers, and alligators, or learn about different kinds of jellyfish. You'll have the chance to see baby seahorses, usually found wrapped around the plants in the water. You can even touch sea anemones and stingrays in the interactive exhibits. Check the aquarium's feeding schedule online before you go to pinpoint when you can watch divers feed the fish in the coral reefs and the sharks in the tunnel. • We visited the aquarium today. Was disappointed that there wasn't a lot to look at. We spend a little over a hour there. It cost $16/person. I did like that you were able to pet certain animals but wa...  more »

  • Fun and they offer a lot for kids, but very pricey and some of the exhibits need improvement. I took our 2 kids with some of our friends and it was fun. Most of the exhibits are well done, but a few need work. For example, the eel's tank is WAY too small for him and you cannot even see the Beaver or the Otters unless it's feeding times. Granted, they feed them twice a day and the feeding schedule is listed, but I would also like to see them when it's not feeding time and there's not so many people around. It would be a simple fix, just put a viewing station on the other side.
  • Vary cool place to take the family or go on your own to explore. Lots to see and learn. Things change often from month to month. Bring a light jacket as it can get a little cool in there at times.
  • It's a little pricey. It's almost 20 bucks for one person, so if you have kids it's going to be up there in price. That being said it's cool place to visit. The exhibits are pretty neat and the designs are interesting. The shark tunnel, sea turtle area, and otters/beaver exhibits stand out. There are several hands on areas that are neat too. The place is pretty small and you can blow through it in about 30 minutes if you don't take your time. Don't go when it's busy cause it can get a little packed and makes it a little annoying to get a good view. If you live in the area I think it's definitely worth seeing.
  • My husband and I visited the aquarium together on a Saturday. It was fairly busy, but I didn't feel like it was overcrowded. It was a nice "date day" for us. I enjoyed seeing all the aquatic life, getting to touch a few creatures like starfish, and smelling the saltwater in the ray exhibit. It was fun to watch all the kids experiencing the aquarium and all its inhabitants as well. I'm glad we visited.
  • I bought a family pass and take my family weekly, since we love so close. The money for a year pass is certainly worth it. My children always have a great time!
