  • Nice little lake near Los Alamos. Fishing is ok after stocking, but it really depends on how good you are.
  • We were here for three days. We came in on the weekend and since our trailer is self contained with solar, we parked in the primitive loop. The park staff was very friendly and the park was pretty cle...  more »

  • Lovely lake - especially in NewMexico! Lots of folks fishing, I was not, but they seemed quite happy! As an out-of-state visitor, I followed my GPS and took about 15 miles of non-paved mountainous roads when leaving. A bit scary, but lovely! Wouldn't want to go that way in bad weather or after dark! Entrance fee $5
  • Nice lake but very green. Would not let dogs swim if I had brought. Overall, clean park.
  • Many nice campsites to choose from at this campground. Nice tall trees and walking distance to the lake to fish. The lake gets pretty crowded but it is still nice and perfect for kids to fish. Also, only a short drive to the hatchery or other stream fishing as well as to the hot springs and hiking trails.
  • Yes I highly recommend this lake! For fishing it's is good in the Spring and Fall months only. For nature adventures it is always great area! The hatchery is right down the road and has a "kids fishing only" pond which is a guarantee the kidos to catch there. I don't go on holidays to fish being that the crowd limits me to move around the lake but after the holiday and checking the stocking report on this lake that the BEST time to go fishing. Now if you enjoy alot of people around go on the holidays to this lake you will enjoy! Have fun!
  • I absolutely love this place, the area is well kept and quiet, there are plenty of places to camp and the fishing is usually pretty great. There are so many places to stay over night and there are plenty of places to sit lakeside and fish all day. If you're ever in the area I definitely recommend taking the time to stop by to enjoy the scenery.
