  • Great horses program for all levels of riders. Structured activities led professional/ friendly people. Will definitely return.
  • I just went to LLR for the second time. My sisters and I went in 2004 and we just went again September 2016. The first time was great, the second time time was even better. Bill and Krista and all the staff are wonderful. They treat all the guests like family. The ranch is beautifully nestled in green fields, rolling hills and a vista of majestic mountains. My niece and four senior women (all over 60 years) went to ride horses, herd a few cattle, learn to fly fish, enjoy all the animals roaming nearby (non dangerous) beautiful flora and fauna, and relax. WE DID IT ALL! I recommend LRR for lone travelers, groups, families, and couples. P.S. The food was wonderful and always plenty of it. Thanks LRR for another unforgettable vacation.
  • The Laramie River Ranch was an excellent vacation! I personally had very little prior experience with horses, and the wranglers provided just the right amount of individual attention to help me get comfortable quickly. They have a large number of horses, and will work with you to find one that suits you best. The ranch itself is beautiful, as are the surroundings. While the obvious focus at the ranch is horse riding, it should be emphasized there are two impressive, and very distinct, mountains directly across the road. These are on public land, so you have free reign to hike them. I hiked both mountains twice over a three-day period. The views were amazing, and the two mountains were very different in their composition to make each hike very interesting. The food at the ranch was spectacular, and the entire staff, including the owners to the kitchen staff and wranglers, was very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed how various staff would sit with us and eat at each meal, so we got to know them more as people. By the end of the trip, we felt like old friends, rather than visitors. Several of the other guests we met there had been to the ranch upwards of four times; repeat business by people who know horses speaks very highly of their operation! If you get the chance, I highly recommend the Laramie River Ranch for your next vacation!
  • This August marked the third year I have taken a vacation at the Laramie River Ranch. I absolutely love this place. Bill and Krista (the owner’s) and their Staff pride themselves on doing everything possible to make sure you have an amazing experience. From the horseback riding, to the accommodations, to the incredible food, everything here is top notch. A huge part of ensuring a positive experience for all, is the care and consideration they put into selecting just the right horse (they have 75+ to choose from) for each and every one of their guests. Whether you’ve never ridden before or you are an accomplished rider, they have just the horse for you. Riding is what this Ranch is all about. The trails are varied so there is something for everyone. Some go up into the mountains, others follow alongside the Laramie River. No matter which trail you take the views are breath taking. If you’ve ever thought about doing a Dude Ranch vacation, this is where you want to go. I guarantee that at the end of the week you will be so rested and relaxed, that you won’t want to leave. I can’t wait to book my return trip (#4) for next year.
  • My ten-year-old daughter and I just returned from a wonderful daddy-daughter trip at LRR. She has always loved horses, and I had been looking for a chance to create an experience especially for her, for us. The guest ranch experience turned out to be perfect. A total escape with new experiences and new views...it all came together better than I had hoped. After flying into Denver, we spent our first day taking the scenic route--driving through the incomparable Rocky Mountain National Park--on our way to the ranch. I know you can see the pictures posted online, but just understand that after the first day, I commented to Bill and Jay that the photographs online do not do justice to the scenery. I thought I'd do better with my own pictures, but soon realized there was no flaw in the photography. While one may collect the visuals in snapshots, a simple photo just doesn't capture those feelings experienced while taking in expansive views atop a horse with the warm wind blowing in your face as you ride along the crest of a mountain...see, it isn't something an IPhone was ever designed to capture. From the family-style meals with comfortable conversations with former strangers to the individual log cabins...from the baby calf bottle-feeding to the mother and baby moose we spotted less than a half mile from our cabin...from Maddie and my ride with only CJ to the 12 person team penning and cattle drive...from the crisp, cool nights with the fireplace in the cabin to the snowmelt-fed river tubing ending in the riverside hot tub...and from the on-site owner and family to the wranglers and staff from across the country (and Germany)...Laramie River Ranch is truly a special place in this world, and forever in my daughter's memory. Thanks, Bill. Hope to see you with the rest of my crew next August.
