After 15 years of dude ranching this has become our favorite place to go to. We have already scheduled a week for 2017, it will be our 6th visit.
Just did my second vacation at LRR, How wonderful. Everything was so perfect. The horses were great, the staff was so outstanding, the food was superb, the ranch environment is so beautiful. It really... read more »

My ten-year-old daughter and I just returned from a wonderful daddy-daughter trip at LRR. She has always loved horses, and I had been looking for a chance to create an experience especially for her, for us. The guest ranch experience turned out to be perfect. A total escape with new experiences and new views...it all came together better than I had hoped. After flying into Denver, we spent our first day taking the scenic route--driving through the incomparable Rocky Mountain National Park--on our way to the ranch. I know you can see the pictures posted online, but just understand that after the first day, I commented to Bill and Jay that the photographs online do not do justice to the scenery. I thought I'd do better with my own pictures, but soon realized there was no flaw in the photography. While one may collect the visuals in snapshots, a simple photo just doesn't capture those feelings experienced while taking in expansive views atop a horse with the warm wind blowing in your face as you ride along the crest of a mountain...see, it isn't something an IPhone was ever designed to capture. From the family-style meals with comfortable conversations with former strangers to the individual log cabins...from the baby calf bottle-feeding to the mother and baby moose we spotted less than a half mile from our cabin...from Maddie and my ride with only CJ to the 12 person team penning and cattle drive...from the crisp, cool nights with the fireplace in the cabin to the snowmelt-fed river tubing ending in the riverside hot tub...and from the on-site owner and family to the wranglers and staff from across the country (and Germany)...Laramie River Ranch is truly a special place in this world, and forever in my daughter's memory. Thanks, Bill. Hope to see you with the rest of my crew next August.
This is a small family owned and operated guest ranch. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating, the horses are of a high caliber and the scenery is straight out of an Old West movie. You can ride all day in any direction and never see another person, building or vehicle. The sweeping vistas of the river valley are framed by colorful and majestic mountains. This was our fourth visit and we found old friends awaiting us and made new friends, as we always do. If you truly want to get away from it all, experience western hospitality at its best, and spend some magical time in the saddle you, too, will love this place.
This August marked the third year I have taken a vacation at the Laramie River Ranch. I absolutely love this place. Bill and Krista (the owner’s) and their Staff pride themselves on doing everything possible to make sure you have an amazing experience. From the horseback riding, to the accommodations, to the incredible food, everything here is top notch. A huge part of ensuring a positive experience for all, is the care and consideration they put into selecting just the right horse (they have 75+ to choose from) for each and every one of their guests. Whether you’ve never ridden before or you are an accomplished rider, they have just the horse for you. Riding is what this Ranch is all about. The trails are varied so there is something for everyone. Some go up into the mountains, others follow alongside the Laramie River. No matter which trail you take the views are breath taking. If you’ve ever thought about doing a Dude Ranch vacation, this is where you want to go. I guarantee that at the end of the week you will be so rested and relaxed, that you won’t want to leave. I can’t wait to book my return trip (#4) for next year.
We just got back from our fourth visit to Laramie River Ranch. We can't help but return to Krista and Bill and their accommodating staff. They go out of their way to make certain that your every need is taken care of. Their horses are well trained, healthy, and willing to please no matter your skill level. From knowledgeable, fun-loving wranglers, to fresh, cooked-to-perfection food, to awe inspiring vistas, this place is a 5 star western experience.
A trip of a lifetime. What better way for a Father / Daughter combo to enjoy a week? There is none. Stunning location, extraordinary staff, delightful accommodations, great food and, oh yah, horses…. Imagine loping up a hillside on a beautiful gelding right as a bald eagle lifts off a tree in front of you and soars six feet above your head. One item off my bucket list. And that was only one of many highlights. Many, many thanks to the LRR and we will be back….
