  • Beautiful. Simple. And rich in history. We visited on a cold rainy day and it was still breathtaking.  more »

  • We were just riding around the island and saw this and stopped. We learned a lot about one of James Oglethorpe’s officers. Also visited the family cemetery just across from the ruins of the home.  more »

  • This is a nice short stop on a bike ride or car ride around the island. You will find the ruins of one of the first structures on Jekyll. Along with information about the house and surrounding site.
  • If you go towards the marches on the side of the cemetery along the water you may be able to see the hundred of baby crabs we got to see. That was awesome. Horton house has some cool history and it's conveniently located on the beach
  • Worth a stop. Pretty cool to imagine what life was like here when it was built.
  • Neat free standing structure from a long time ago! The walls were made of seashells too
  • Not much to it but it was definitely interesting to see how houses are constructed
