We had such a fun time that we will be coming back. We rented a house boat and stayed with ten friends. I recommend it!
It's a scenic drive we enjoyed on our drive to Rowana landing restaurant and I can imagine would be great during the fall if you like seeing the fall colors. I will go back to explore it more.
First time visiting Lake Cumberland without staying on a houseboat. We opted to camp at the State Resort and it was an excellence choice. Great staff and very clean.
We stayed in cottage 521, our group was celebrating a coworkers birthday! Had a great time, the cabin was well appointed, and clean. Plenty of towels and incidental items in the cottage, free WiFi, grill and fire pits, plenty of room and great outside deck. Staying overnight in the cottages, you also have access to the indoor pool at Lure Lodge, which is very nice, there is also a nice game room. The area has many great things to do, we went for a hike on a trail that starts near the Lodge, and then the next day we rented a pontoon from the state dock... That was awesome... Pricey $$$$ but fun! Do you hint Pokémon on Pokémon Go? There is a pokestop accessible only by going to the patio outside the "over look" which is behind Lure Lodge. Not only that, but a lot of Pokémon hang out there near the hotel, and even some down by the cottages! Be careful of resident wildlife! Deer have many Road crossings. Raccoons will pilfer through anything you leave outside. You may even encounter a fox, or bear, or a number of other wildlife that call Lake Cumberland State Resort Park home.

Campground is nice. Bathhouses need more venting, man they get hot. BEWARE electrical hookups are shared between sites. Get there last and you'll be stuck with 20AMP, or you'll need a 50 to 30amp converter. You will also need an extension for your 30amp line.
The lake, park and boat rentals were awesome!... The cabins were nice but we're very dirty. Everyone's feet were black just from going barefoot on inside the cabin! Don't know who their cleaning crew is but they need to be fired!!!😠 Otherwise the resort is an excellent place to vacation.
Very pretty park. We rented a pontoon boat that ended up being in poor repair - exposed wires, radio didn't work, trash from last people still in it, etc. The gas tank probably had a leak and the amount they wanted to charge for gas was obscene
Lake Cumberland State Resort Park is an outstanding place to visit. The water is clean, the marinas and bars are great, and it's simply a perfect piece to relax.
