  • Wonderful and fairly easy 3 miles one way hike to Hamilton Falls. A bonus was the water release made for some great whitewater rafting watching!
  • Lots of great swimming in the river. Campground is quiet at night. Price for firewood is reasonable. Sites are clean.
  • Have been going to Jamaica St Park for years. Starting when our kids were 3 and 5. The youngest just graduated college.... So this was our first time there without kids. It was great to remember all t...  read more »
  • Well maintained, clean camo sites, just enough distance between sites, wood chopping stumps at each site(!), reasonably priced, easy hikes, beautiful river to swim in...I could go on. We went with two other families and had a great weekend. You feel far away from it all in a cozy little river valley.
  • Beautiful park. Offering a nice hike to some swimmable potholes up neat the top. There is also a parking lot right near the swimming holes for those who don't to hike.
  • One of the best camping destinations in the Northeast!!! Great hiking trail options as well.
  • My first trip to Jamaica State Park and found an excellent variety of trails. The old railroad bed is now a nice wide trail along the beautiful river and perfect for an easy scenic bike ride for the family. Saw several families with small children enjoying themselves. Picnic tables along the way give great spots for lunch and in August the river offers an easy cool off opportunity or fishing break. Several trails up from the river trail are a short half mile but a good workout in August heat. We chose the Vista trail and considered the Hamilton Falls trail but met a couple of hikers coming down from the Falls and advised us they were disappointed after hiking up and meeting ten people at the falls who had driven in from the top where there is a parking lot. Either way I definitely recommend a trip to Hamilton Falls as it is unique, beautiful and very interesting. Camping sites looked great although we did not camp.
  • Jamaica State Park is a New England treasure! Beautiful state park with river swimming holes, waterfalls, hiking trails and a very nice campground. The camp is a fifteen minute walk from Main Strret in Jamaica while being deep in bucolic Vermont. Short drive to Stratton! Not far from Brattleboro, Mt Snow and Killingtom if you have the Mountain Bikes ready!
