Metropolitan Park is a 32acre, urban waterfront park located on the north bank of the St. Johns River in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. It is projected to be the eastern terminus of the northbank Jacksonville Riverwalk.FacilityThe multi-purpose facility contains an exhibition mall for art, crafts and boat shows, a family picnic and playground area, and an earthen "bowl" with a performance pavilion which has a capacity of 10,000 persons and is home to many annual events, including The Jacksonville Jazz Festival, World of Nations Celebration, Spring Music Festival, Freedom, Fanfare & Fireworks on July 4th, Planetfest and many more. The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra occasionally performs there, as have many nationally known entertainers. The primary facility is a 2400sqft reversible stage with seating for 3,000 under the large canopy. There is a green room, production office and dressing rooms for performers. The park has full boat docking facilities with 78 boat slips. The present park size is the result of several additions since the initial acquisition in 1972.

  • Been there several times. Rockville is the best. You might expect a rough crowd in downtown Jax but the security is great. Food isn't great but good. If it rains it gets muddy fast.
  • If going for a concert get there early. Leave the bag to your chair in the car, can't take them in. Coolers welcome, but only with water or soda. That's how they make their money. Would recommend eati...  read more »
  • This place has really gone downhill. I believe they cannot even use the main stage any more due to safety concerns with the cover. This is definitely a place you do not want to be when it rains or wit...  read more »
  • We go to Welcome to Rockville every year. This year I was pretty mad. They put the VIP area around the restrooms so there was no way to get to running water. I have medical issues that leave me unable to sweat, I was at the mercy of drink vendors to wet a towel I wet my skin with and spent most of both days hanging out at the mist fans. And missed alot of the band's I paid to see. I under stand they are trying to keep people from re-filling water bottles to make more money. But the drinks are $3 for water really! Good to Sam's club next year get there brand sell for $1 still make a ton of money off it. If this April is like last year, then it may be my last Rockville
  • Here's a blast here for both welcome to Rockville and oyster jam festival(that event had issues unrelated to the area) Only two ATMs that we could find and one set of bathrooms was our only complaint. Lots of area for the events we participated in so plenty of areas to just sit back and relax or walk and enjoy.
  • Metro Park is so lovely! It has so many great's by the water, the layout plan is nice with shaded seating throughout & the performance arena for events. Very calming to go & chill when no events are bustling there.
  • The MARINA is a great hide-a-way while cruising the St Johns river. The city of Jacksonville has a gem of an offer here for boaters. Free pump out. Electric for less than $9 per night. 3 night max. For ballgames it is great space for that fun, but cruisers - it wouldn't be, but you won't get a space anyway unless booked in advance. Bathrooms CLEAN, no showers or laundry. Parking great, safe and well lit. Safe for our friends to park over night. Bonus was a music festival at park with free entrance, and we could hear it while on boat. The park itself is the best venue, but the white tent needs some TLC. Take advantage of this JACKSONVILLE.
  • I was here for the Welcome to Rockville festival as a tour bus driver. I had plenty of parking and the staff was really organized from my perspective. I stayed on site for the day and had the BEST full day of music in YEARS. IDK what the park is like aside from this frst, but it seemed big with decent facilities.
