  • It's a zoo. Not rating it higher than three stars is probably more to do with how zoos make me feel then anything else. I do understand that this zoo is run largely on donations. There are some places that look and feel a bit run down. For the most part it looks like they do a good job. It's a great place to take the kids for a day trip. Food and drinks aren't ridiculously priced at least in comparison to buying them at a theme park.
  • Great place for a family get away great variety of animals to see. There is really so much to see so I would plan for a day trip and they also have a little water park for the kiddos inside so pack the kids swim wear. Most of the walkways are shaded so you don't have to worry too much about sun exposure. Really the best zoo I have been to in awhile.
  • The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens has been an excellent zoo to visit. I have been going at least once a year for that past 15 years and can say they keep the attractions clean and the animals healthy. In recent years they have worked on adding new exhibits and improving on older ones. The price of entry is reasonable and they offer many additional attractions for families to enjoy. Petting the rays and riding the train are always a family favorite.
  • I've been going to this zoo for about 15 years and I love how it has evolved! The zoo staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds are clean and beautiful. I also love you can bring snacks and your own water bottle in.
  • The new Campground Critters animals show is super cool. They have all kind of animals, most of them adopted from local shelters in Florida, dancing and doing funny tricks with their trainers. The staff did a great job and we are definitely going again. Great job guys and thanks for the zoo for always adding new shows and activities.
