  • I have had the greatest pleasure of visiting this blessed place for over 30 years! Always a treat to see the established flowers and the new ones! To stand in an historic landmark in the gold country is a bonus! Bring extra clothing or a jacket since you may have a chilly sunshiny day! My deepest respect and thanks goes out to the family and volunteers who invite the public to see this magical happy place. I would hope the public would acknowledge them by leaving a donation for the otherwise free venue. We always pick up wonderful postcards of the ranch... since I couldn't get better pictures of the ranch myself; but do bring your camera! Definitely worth a yearly visit! Volcano is right up the highway so that's always a favorite stop too!
  • We were so disappointed! We checked the web site and it said they were open from 10am-4:00pm today. We drove an hour and a half and arrived at 1pm to find a big 'Closed' sign on the chained closed gate! Please update your web site with correct times & dates. We'd love to enjoy the daffodils !
  • Wow, what a fun place! It's beautiful and serene. You have to, however, visit at the time the daffodils are in bloom, which is in early spring. It was earlier than usual in 2015, coming in the first half of March. The 3rd-generation owners are often on hand to welcome visitors. There is no admission, but plenty of donation buckets around. There is ample parking, although it gets pretty crowded on weekends. There is a picnic area too. The daffodils cover broad, sloping hillside that is scattered with old farm equipment and benches. The vast planting creates a panorama of blooming flowers that provide plenty of photo opportunities. Besides the flowers, there is an atmosphere of friendliness and appreciation for all the work the owners put into this community service. Hat off to the McLaughlins!
  • Just a short drive from Sacramento and well worth the drive! A wonderful experience...
  • When the hill is open for the season the hours of operation are from 10am until 4pm.
