  • This is our weekly go to place after dinner at home. A nice stroll for the chihuahua and excellent Pokemon Go spot for unusual creatures. Haven't been on the lake yet with the boat. You can obtain you...  read more »
  • Came here on a Tuesday afternoon August for some hiking. Fortunately it was overcast and just a little drizzly: in other words, perfect conditions for following trails. There are 2 trails, one marked ...  read more »
  • high fall state park is a great place to take a group or family picnic.. there is a swimming pool and plenty of rood to have fun and relax.
  • This was a great park! We (my husband and two dogs) stopped here to get a break from a road trip and were really glad to have found it! There were tons of picnic tables to enjoy lunch and beautiful views! Right from the parking area (and area where we choose to eat) we were able to see the river rolling into the beautiful damn! It was a very easy and shore hike down lower to see move views of these beautiful waterfalls! It isn't often that you are able to find such beautiful waterfalls that are so easily accessible! It was a quick stop for us but very enjoyable! I would love to visit here again another time!
  • Fall, 2014. Stayed overnight in a 21' RV. Enjoyed a wonderful stay, however brief. We hope to stop again this year. Great hosts, terrific sights, beautiful spot. Close to the highway which makes it nice for those just passing through.
  • We paid $150 for two nights at the primitive, canoe-in campsite. The site was riddled with poison ivy, but because this is a primitive site, I can sort of understand that. But for $75/night... that is a VERY high price, and I would have expected that it might be a little more maintained. Also, having to pay $5 for parking AND $5 per person to swim in the pool located WITHIN THE PARK LIMITS is ridiculous. When you book a hotel, or really ANYWHERE, parking and amenities are included in the fee. If we had paid $30/night, sure- I could see paying more for a pool. But $75 a night? I would have expected certain things to be included in that ridiculous price. Also, I am not exactly sure what the appeal of High Falls is if: You cannot swim in the lake You cannot climb on the rocks You cannot touch any water in the river etc... What exactly is the use of a State Park, and attempts to entice the general public out into nature, if the visitors cannot even physically enjoy the full beauty of it? Perhaps I am just used to engaging more with my environment... fishing knee deep in a cold river, or climbing rocks (safely) to explore for toad eggs or helgrammites, etc. I do not understand the concept of walking along a trail and only being allowed to view a beautiful site from behind wooden fencing. My children did not enjoy this, either, and were frustrated and highly disappointed. We are avid campers, and sorry to say this trip was a huge let-down. We will not be back.
  • Quit your complaining Deanna Brooks. Just be happy we have a park as nice as this. It's YOU who should have ushered your kids outside before you began your RANT over a discount. Just gotta complain about something. Enjoy the park. Even at retail it's a good deal.
  • Highfalls is where i grew up, Best place to get away for a day or a week. Memories for Me and now i can take the kids for them to build memories to look back on and maybe take their kids when they grow up. Activities are pretty much limited to what you can think up. Absolutely love this place.
