  • I was born and raised in Bellevue when Bell Square was separate buildings. I went to Sammamish High School and it just seemed natural for us to hang out at LSSP since it had the same name as our schoo...  more »

  • We just went to the new playground, that apparently cost more than 1 million dollars. What a incredible disappointment! It's very large, but the playground equipment is suitable only for 5 and under. Older kids would be bored in a few minutes. The swings are extremely short, the zipline has no zip at all - my kids were so low to the ground, and so slow, that they had to push themselves along with their feet to even get to the end. Merry-go-rounds are generally really popular because it's a thrill for the kids, and they have to work together to have fun and spin around. My kids could play on a regular one for an hour or more. But not this one at this playground! It's been set up so that you have to push REALLY hard to move it at all. The kids struggle and get tired of it in a few minutes. What a terrible, terrible waste of taxpayer money.
  • I went to a white party here (Soiree en Blanc - flash mob picnic). Parking was easy and is close to the main area. A great place to bring your kayak etc and enjoy the expansive lake. Great for events or little picnics. Excellent new bathroom facilities.
  • A good sized park that gets fairly crowded on sunny days, a day at Lake Sammamish State Park is one of the better ways to enjoy the lake. There's a patrolled beach, plenty of tables, public grills, restrooms, good open spaces, and fairly ample parking. Paddleboard rentals are available near the smaller beach for people who do not have their own. For the non-water going crowd, a few kilometers of trails wind their way through the park from the main area towards the boat ramp and the nearby Microsoft campus. (Access to the East Lake Sammamish Trail can be had via the Boat ramp) Note: A discover pass is required so be sure to bring yours if you have one. If you need to purchase a pass the friendly ranger in the booth can sell you one (at the cheapest rate available!) or an automated pay station is near the park office should the booth be unmanned.
  • Great park for a variety of sports/recreation. Cool new and BIG playground for kids too!
  • It would have been better if the beach was open; it's been closed for renovations. The weather was great and the grounds were clean and well kept. We will be back for that huge picnic area.
