After the snow falls in the mountains it is time to take our camper south. We enjoyed a little staycation getaway at the Isleta Lakes RV park in November. Across from the Isleta Casino the Isleta lake... more »

The fishing is expensive with limited hours. It was cold and windy when we were there. The wife and I had purchased a new fifth wheel and wanted to try it out. The campground was great with full hook ... more »
Rude desk person, was on cell phone on a personal call. Wouldn't wait on me. I patently waited till she got off cell. I felt she was bothered by her needing to answer my questions. She was very cold and calculated. When I did make it there to fish, was told they stocked but didn't even get a bite. Even after movement of my rod concluded it was a breeze. I used to fish here a long time ago, and was a decent place to relax and fish, but now employees are very rude, and fishing is few and far between. My biggest grip is that I'm a 27 year retired vet, and when I heard about the man who was 100% disabled and had took 2 disabled children to enjoy time out together and maybe catch a fish. The disabled vet had asked if he could get a break on the two disabled children and was rudely told that he had to pay full price. He wasn't asking for his cost to be waived or even the children's cost to be waived, just asked for a small break because the children were disabled and Thier attention deficit was going to show after 30 mins which it did. They didn't want to fish anymore, so they left after about an hour, and he asked if he could get a refund for the kids, not his mind you. They said no he cannot. It was horrible and I can't see me or anyone else wanting to go there anymore. RV is another thing I read about, and wow, Isleta has gone south , and not in a good way. If they had negative stars would put negative 5.
Don't know about the fishing, but if you are traveling through and just want to stop in and see the area it'a a good place to stop. ABQ short drive with many other sites within short driving distance.(route 66) RV park is nice and very tidy, covered tables, and nice well maintained hook ups. Security at gate. There is also decent free WIfi. Bathrooms are clean and well supplied. Left off one star for the commuter train that travels through, and that there is no reservations. First come first serve.
We love it here. . Anywhere we can fish works for us! Take your kids outdoors and let them touch the worms, reel in that fish! Gd 4 the soul! Living in the city, you have to get out!! Idk why there is so many negative comments! It's fishing, sometimes you WIN SOMETIMES YOU DON'T! Next trip, NAVAJO DAM, Quality waters. PEACE!
I am 22 years old and I have been fishing all over new mexico and I have never caught a fish. But today I caught my first fish ever and 9 more on top of that. This place is beautiful well kept and super fun I had a blast. For the people saying they didn't catch anything there was about 20 other people catching more then me. I will definitely be going here alot.
This place does not take reservations!! How do you plan a family trip around that? Try American RV instead. They are great! There's no fishing there but based on the other reviews, you probably don't want to fish here anyway.
