  • Visiting at the end of September was a great time because tourist season was over, but it was a beautiful day and there was plenty of parking. The beach wasn't crowded at all, but had friends, couples...  read more »
  • I don't know if we just went on the wrong day!!! When we asked a local what to do about the flies he said "Leave!" It was an absolute shame because this is a full amenity county park with showers and ...  read more »
  • Best beach in area. Arrive early (9am) and get a meter for reasonable price. Public restroom with shower and changing area. Limited restaurants so plan accordingly.
  • Great place to go for beach access on the Isle of Palms. Now that the city is ramping up tickets for on-street parking, I highly suggest this lot. Aside from beach access, the facility has lots of showers for washing off after the beach, great bathrooms, an outside play area for children, changing stalls, etc. They also have stands for simple food items, chairs, and umbrellas. My greatest tip, however, is to go as soon as they open. Because of all their amenities, this lot fills up very quick in peak season.
  • Price has gone up from $5 to $8 for the day, but it is worth it. Well maintained with plenty amenities and services, a snack shack with a shop for decently priced beach accessories, and picnic tables. Freshwater showers to rinse off are a huge plus! ADA compliant ramps right up to the beach. They also have wheelchairs with beach tires that you can get for the day by leaving your driver's license as a deposit.
  • Great and convenient parking and access to the beach. Kids love the playground and having picnics. This is our favorite spot in charleston sc.
  • Beautiful beach of course, but the guarded swimming area is extremely small and so if you rent any chairs or an umbrella you're going to be forced to squeeze into a really crowded area. Better to just rent elsewhere and/or bring your own.
  • This place is a life-saver. Parking is cheap, ($5, i think), the rental for a beach chair/umbrella is fantastic (though, a little expensive, to be honest). But the proximity to the beach and the amenities (shower / bathroom / hotdog cart) are all invaluable.
