Anne's Beach, Islamorada

2.2
#2 of 6 in Parks in Islamorada
Dedicated to local environmentalist Anne Eaton, Anne's Beach features a shallow swimming area along a shore lined with mangroves. Try your hand at kiteboarding, or snorkel to look for octopuses. When you're done, walk along the boardwalk, which is an elevated, wooden path that leads 0.8 km (0.5 mi) through natural wetlands. Bring a picnic basket and eat in the covered picnic area. Amenities include two parking lots and bathroom facilities. Watch your step to avoid crab holes. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Islamorada holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Anne's Beach and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

A "beach" in a manner of speaking ... You log on to the sea by a bridge of wood because the sandy part is very short and given the presence of mangroves on sea is dirty and swampy. In short, is not exactly the best swim in, unless you are lovers of the marshes. I personally do not. Go here if you want to take a look and make some photos but not very nice Avenue time it gets better!

We stayed there for two hours. The parking lot is small but there was room and it is free. Small beach with water very shallow and quite muddy. Watch out for jellyfish and chips in the water and on the beach as well as the small crabs (very many). Attractive beach for a brief stop with the mangrove environment and the reference to the Bloodline series. For a better Beach, Islamorada (paid and expensive) or Sombrero beach in Marathon (great and free).
