Mustangs of Las Colinas, Irving

4.2
#1 of 11 in Things to do in Irving
Tourist from around the world come to view the impressive, larger-than-life depiction that serves as the centerpiece of Williams Square, a stark, pink-granite plaza in the Las Colinas Urban Center.

This is a must-see for visitors and residents alike.

Adjacent to the sculpture, in the East Tower of Williams Square Plaza, is the Mustangs of Las Colinas Museum. In the museum, visitors learn the story of the eight years of work African wildlife artist Robert Glen invested in creating the Mustangs. The museum also presents a short film which brings to life for the visitor the time and effort that went into designing, molding, and mounting this distinctive piece of public art. Other works of art by Robert Glen are also on display in the museum.

Admission to the museum is free.

  • If you're in the Irving area while visiting DFW the mustangs are worth a look. They can make for some good pics. Not much else to see in the area, but there are multiple good restaurants nearby.  more »
  • These horses are really worth stopping to take a look at if you close by. They statues are very well done and the whole plaza is a cool sight.  more »

  • For the many years that they have been here, the Mustangs of Las Colinas have held a top position among favorite show places to visit, especially with out-of-state friends. It was only during my last visit, that I realized there is also a museum .., Bonus! The museum is small, and air-condition , if you happen to be visiting in the hot part of the day. I enjoy an evening stroll through the plaza after dinner. The mustang are artistically highlighted after dark.
  • Beautiful statues of the Mustangs! Great place to walk around or sit and enjoy the rushing waters. The Mustangs are larger than life size and absolutely stunningly life like. There is also other things to view if you have time. Indoors is a museum and on the back side is part of Lake Carolyn which offers great views of the sunset. A huge plus if you play Pokemon Go there are two gyms located here and eight poke stops.
  • Nice place. The sculptures make very good background for a great click. If you are near by, come take a stroll and take some pictures or just enjoy the lifelike and wonderful mustangs. You won't be disappointed.
  • Lots to see and lots to do. More stuff on the way. Great spot.
  • I work here. Only reason to visit is to see some statues. The statues are pretty awesome though
