  • My husband & I use the Terry Trueblood Recreational Area very often to ride our bikes. The trail is paved and very accessible to riders of all ages. I have taken our 8 & 10 yr old grandchildren there ...  more »
  • Easy access, very pretty, usually busy, nice place for walking, biking, picnicking, wedding facilities, paddle boats to rent. Great place for a family day!  more »
  • great place to meet up for bike rides- quick access to a bike trail that runs along the Iowa River. Or you could park here, leave vehicles if you're not comfortable riding on city streets. We've tried...  more »

  • I love this "park", the old sand pits. The paved trail around the pond is nice and wide- enough for many people to walk, skate, bike or jog around. My only complaint is that both website and trail need better markers/signs/information posted for easy access and new users: 1.Where is the starting point and start of the measured distance markers (Start, 1 mile, 2 miles, etc.) for those of us who use it to walk as a therapy &/or like to measure our progress? 2. Alerting us to proper direction of travel when bikes and walkers share the path so everyone is on the same page, so to speak. 3. Is the "main entrance" on the North side where the big sign with the name is? Or, is it on the South end where the website says the information board is? 4. Where do the trails lead that branch off and away from this park? Thanks for making a nice walking path and nature area where motors are not heard over here on the often forgotten South and East side of town.
  • My favorite place. So close but still so beautiful. I don't think there is any need to bring music the birds sing a better song.
  • Wonderful walking trail around lake on south side of Iowa City. Plenty of outdoor activities here.
  • Nice park. There's picnic areas, a lake, and hiking trails. While there we watched Eagles flying about. Beautiful!!
  • Had a meeting here for work. The lodge was nice with a large kitchen and an outside access to the kitchen, which was a lifesaver for all the food and beverages we had to bring in. The kitchen even had a cart to help with loading and unloading! We were able to drive right up to the door and easily get everything in and out. The best part was the gorgeous view and patio - view a the beautiful lake with natural habitat. Lastly, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
