  • Great place to take you children for a fun-filled, free afternoon. Well kept museum with a lot to see and learn.
  • This is one of my favorite things in Iowa City. It is a great place to take children. There is no charge, although a voluntary donation is welcome. The dioramas can be very exciting, even a little scary, for pre-schoolers. I find the exhibits in bird hall to be an excellent way to review many of the birds (including the spring warblers) one is likely to see around Iowa City.
  • Nice place to visit. The specimins are well preserved and the setting are nice too.
  • Fun and educational!
  • Excellent use of space! I wasn't so sure that it would be very fulfilling when we walked in from the outside and saw the map of exhibits. Soon after, I was shown just how much information and vivid imagery can be crammed into a small space when optical novelties and fun tricks are utilized cleverly. I wasn't sure we'd spend a whole hour here, but we ended up spending nearly two hours (just two people) going through the exhibits. Also, did I mention it was free? They didn't even ask for donations! Can't get much better value for paying NOTHING. Cons: Finding a place to park :D
