Kitchen Kettle Village, Intercourse

Must see · Gift & Specialty Shop · Shopping
What began as a home business in a two-car garage has grown into Kitchen Kettle Village. The village experience includes a series of 40 boutiques that sell local, handcrafted goods. You'll discover that each shop is locally owned and sells locally made wares including food items, leather goods, furniture, and clothing. You'll even find a carriage ride service. However, the Pennsylvania Dutch attraction has its origins in old-fashioned home cooking, and the Canning Kitchen restaurant and cafe serves treats from the pantry. • Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Sampling of different canned and jarred fruits and vegetables were awesome. We picked up a pie, cheese, and sausage. You could watch the folks canning products that would be sold at some time in the future. Really enjoyable. We will return again.
  • Nice place to visit. Great entertainment and lots of gift shops. There's a buggy ride tours to country side to explore farmhouse and people around. Very friendly people. The atmosphere makes you feel relaxed. Fruit and vegetables are fresh and juicy. Highly recommend it if you are around.
  • Such a fun shopping center! We loved all the samples: jams, salsa, cheese, etc. Of course it caused us to buy way too much but it was all very delicious :) There was also some live entertainment while we were there. It had a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend you stop by if you are in the area.
  • As a local, I consider Intercourse in general a big tourist trap and traffic snag. However, my out-of-state girlfriend is obsessed with the place and we go here almost every time we're in the area. Is it touristy? Yes. Can you get most of the Amish experience in one location? Also yes. Find the friendly goats you can pet. Make sure you drive down the road to Family Farm Quilts and have a look at that too, as well as the American Edged Weaponry Museum. Then eat at Oregon Dairy restaurant about twenty minutes away. You know. All the good stuff I take for granted.
  • Really liked the stores in the village. Very quaint place, so very nice place to shop. Very nice people and very helpful. Liked the bakery and the wine shop. Very nice places to shop and liked the local wines I tasted at the wine shop. Really liked and enjoyed riding the horse and buggy ride. That was a great trip around the amishland looking at how they grow crops and how they live and going under the covered bridge was great
