  • We live in St. Louis where we have a very large and free zoo. It's great but we always like to explore other zoos to see what they have to offer. The Indy zoo was fantastic! They had some animals I'd ...  read more »
  • A few exhibits were closed and ZooBoo was going on so they closed early but well worth it. GPS took us to the state park entrance so we had a lot of walking to get to the zoo. Good rides for everyone ...  read more »

  • Fantastic place to take your family. If you plan on visiting more then twice a year (and most people do) I suggest getting a family pass. It pays for itself very quickly and you get to bypass the lines at the entrance, get free parking and a discount for rides. The zoo also has great activities for children year round such as Zoo Boo for Halloween and Christmas at the Zoo.
  • i thought the zoo was great but there was some things that could be better. The train ride was cool but i thought it went to fast and the speakers were way to loud. The dolphin show was awesome.I think it is awesome that the zoo runs on green energy. Definitely worth the trip to go and see
  • Great dolphin show done to music. Orangutan exhibit ultra modern look but did not seem appropriate for the animals with no natural habitat appearance considering their video presentation bemoan the fact that natural habitat is disappearing in the world. Walrus exhibit was fun to watch as well as elephant exhibit. Glad they had picnic tables available for our group to eat our picnic lunch. A little high priced on food and gifts. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good zoo overall.
  • Although this zoo is pricy, it is worth it for the experience! The animal exhibits are awesome. My favorite was the orangutans!!! There was a baby orangutan that captured our attention for a while. The roller coaster is fun too. Make sure to get the fruity soft serve... Mango and strawberry options (I've never had anything like it). Extended hours on the Labor Day holiday is good too.
  • My family and I entered the zoo Friday August 26th 2016 at roughly 3:00pm. When we purchased the tickets not once were the severe storms approaching mentioned. They gladly took our money!!!.. Less then an hour later we were all huddled under a canopy due to lightning strikes and severe flooding. NOT ONE of the staff members alerted us the dangerous conditions coming. When we finally made it to the Cafe and asked for a golf cart or a vehicle to come and get us to take us to the safety of our car, we were told there are none on the grounds and we would have to fend for ourselves. Every where we looked there were families with toddlers and strollers stranded just as we were. When I called and talked with Ady, she said proper procedures had been followed at the zoo?? When I received an email from Lisa, the Guest Experience Manager, she said the security team was diligently watching the reports, It might have been a GREAT IDEA if the security EXPERTS could have warned the patrons of the conditions they were WATCHING and gotten all to safety, especially since they have experienced one of their own being struck by lightning in the past!!! Lisa also stated the city's sirens alerted the OUTSIDE guest to the inclement weather, I can assure you this DID NOT happen. Needless to say the $105 spent for this experience was a HUGE waste. Never will visit the Indianapolis Zoo AGAIN!!
