A visit here brings to mind Victorian women with parasols and gentlemen in hats, strolling among the beautiful fountains, gardens, and statuary. The conservatory is top-knotch also. A true hidden gem ...  more »

The conservatory, pool, playgrounds, etc. at this location are all kept conditioned rather well. I can't find anything to complain about in regards to this park. It is a great place to spend a day with your loved ones or in quiet mediation. I recommend giving it a shot.

Lovely park. The oldest and most historic in Indianapolis. So much to see and do here. From a swimming pool to an amphitheatre, botanical gardens and small art gallery, you will find something that you enjoy at Garfield Park alongside the Pleasant Run Creek and Trail.

One of my family's favorite Indy parks. Beautiful trees, and wide open spaces. The park is also home to a great art center, botanic garden, pool and historic pagoda.

Love Garfield park. Historic, beautiful, serene, clean, well-maintained, Garfield is the total package. One of the best places in the city to take a walk, have a picnic, or to take the kids so they can run off some energy.

Where to stay in Indianapolis

With limited public transportation in the city, those traveling without a car should consider the location of their accommodations carefully. To stay within walking distance of Indianapolis’ best restaurants and bars, look for a hotel or apartment rental in the arty Mass Ave or Broad Ripple neighborhoods. Downtown lodgings are often more expensive, but provide easy access to Indy’s best-known attractions for those on vacation. Bed and breakfasts in the city’s residential areas provide a healthy dose of Midwestern charm.
