  • Wow - what a great natural area! 30 minutes from downtown Indianapolis and you are at a magnificent lake with boating options galore. If you're not a water baby then try a walk or hike on the trails. ...  more »
  • Nothing like being at the lake on Memorial Day weekend! Enjoyed watching the sailboats and relaxing on a warm Indiana spring day.  more »
  • Went here with my family to enjoy some nature. It´s a big place with some 1400 acres of water and around double that with land. A great place to enjoy the outdoors and enjoy many outdoor activities. G...  more »

  • Beautiful park but absolute terrible services and regulations. Pay 5-6 to get in by auto, understandable. Then pay for rental of canoe, boat, paddle and more, absolutely understandable and fun! You cannot get off the boat to swim. Also you also have to pay an additional fee to enter the swimming area. This wouldn't be bad but they have a massive body of water and you aren't allowed to swim in any area except the apartment sized "beach" marked by yellow floatation devices. And you pay 6 a person to enter this area. No cash refunds, I get that as well, but I paid to swim walked in to see the small swimming area and not 10 seconds passes when I asked if I could please have my money back as I had no idea it would be so small with a ton of people. They held firm with their no refund policy. If I had even touched the water or stayed inside the area for even 5 mins I would understand it was my fault but you can't see the water for swimming behind the stand where you pay so I feel I have been robbed of my money and I feel like it is selfish of those in charge to provide such a small area for swimming after people pay to enter the park and pay to enter the swimming area. I will never return to this park.
  • Beautiful , scenic route around Eagle Creek reservoir. However, lots of trash left on the ground from careless people.fishing and or having a picnic. It is really discouraging to have them leave their garbage alongside the path instead of packing it out and throwing it away in the trash cans at the park. It really spoils the beauty of the place. Also, It has gotten much worse in the last 3 years. Some of these groups spread across the public path and won't move for the other patrons. These patrons have also paid an entrance fee also for access to the park. I try to go only on the week day evenings now because it is much easier to walk the path without people blocking it.
  • An amazing park, with lots of trails and scenic areas. I enjoyed the off-trail experience during an orienteering competition there. Restrooms were the real deal, with flush and sinks. Parking was easy to find.
  • Great place to take your kids. They have a nature center, bird observatory, paddle boats, and much much more. The trail system is one of the best in Indiana.
  • Beautiful park... visited here on Sunday morning to zipline the Go Ape. With a steady stream for all areas of the park they had plenty of parking. Bring a sense of adventure or peace and you are sure to fulfill.

Where to stay in Indianapolis

With limited public transportation in the city, those traveling without a car should consider the location of their accommodations carefully. To stay within walking distance of Indianapolis’ best restaurants and bars, look for a hotel or apartment rental in the arty Mass Ave or Broad Ripple neighborhoods. Downtown lodgings are often more expensive, but provide easy access to Indy’s best-known attractions for those on vacation. Bed and breakfasts in the city’s residential areas provide a healthy dose of Midwestern charm.
