We zijn gisteren gestopt om deze oude mijn te bezoeken. De uitleg die de man gaf was waarschijnlijk wel heel goed maar het duurde allemaal zo lang. We wilden eigenlijk binnen gaan en daar de historie ... read more »We are to visit this old mine stopped yesterday. The explanation that the man gave was probably going to be very good but it was all so long. We wanted to actually go in and hear the history there and not first half an hour outside to the explanation of a machine or a stone. Within the same story every time we continued to stand for 10 minutes for an explanation. For many might be interesting but a brief explanation was sufficient for us.show original

On our way to the Denver airport, we had some extra time and decided to stop by the Phoenix Gold Mine. We had our own private tour by a local (Hank) who was full of information (and jokes!). The tour ... read more »
Seriously not just cool because you get to go in a real gold mine but, the ground squirrel/ chipmunks are super cute and the guide was a riot. And really for me the most awesomest part of our visit was Al! I really enjoyed hearing his story and the reason for writing his books, I will definitely be here again soon and can't wait to bring my boys!
They are super mean i mean like one guy kept yelling shut up to the class and another was being super rude he's like BE QUIET , MOVE BACK. they guy saying shut up said this is the attitude adjustment pointing to it and it was a fake hanging guy and he said there is a zombie in there. While the kinder gardeners were crying because they were scared , he yelled SHUT UP!! And he said shut up to a teacher while she was trying to help someone. Extremely mean staff especially the manager cause he didn't care. They made a Teacher cry they were so mean while she was trying to defend us
The mine is neat. The chipmunks are a nice touch. The panning is fun, though it is not rigged so don't come expecting to find anything. The owner was nice, but the tour guy was a complete jerk. Minus two stars. Others asked for their money back. I would have but I wanted to pan. The tour stories are completely fake, although the mining methodology seems real. I also knocked a star off for the biting flies.
Great people running the place. Bob was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable about the area and surrounding mines. If you get the panning package you can pan all day if you want. Lots of gems and silver and gold to be found too. The kids loved it!
Is major fun for all ages. Ask for David if u want to do haunted tours
