Camden Park is a twenty-six acre amusement park located near Huntington, West Virginia. Established in 1903 as a picnic spot by the Camden Interstate Railway Company, it is one of only thirteen trolley parks that remain open in the United States. Whereas most trolley parks were located at the end of trolley lines, Camden Park is unusual in that it was built where riders traveling between Huntington and nearby cities would stop to change lines. Not long after opening, the park soon gained a carousel and other roadside attractions. Camden Park is West Virginia's only amusement park. The park is home to more than thirty rides and attractions, including a full-size traditional wooden roller coaster, the Big Dipper, and several other vintage rides.Arrange your visit to Camden Park and discover more family-friendly attractions in Huntington using our Huntington road trip planner.
Over the years, Camden Park has featured a swimming pool, a roller rink, and even a small zoo. Today, the park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including live musical performances as part of the "Hot Summer Nights" concert series. Other events include the "Children's Festival," "Coca-Cola Days," and the "Halloween Spooktacular." The park is typically open six days a week from late May to early August, with a more limited schedule in late August, and select dates in September and October.

Went to Camden Park with wife and grandson today. OMG the park is far from the park I remembered as a child in the 60’s!! The park is in dire need of refurbishing. The Big Dipper wasn’t running...

The place needs renovated completely inside and out. Drastically needs upgraded. But the rides were fun, short lines. The payment to get into the park is decent given that it covers the cost of all rides. The food was delicious and budget friendly. They have not opened the swan paddle boats or the mini golf unfortunately which would've definitely made the day much better. They have no safety precautions such as making sure you're buckled into a ride. Some of the rides are literally ductaped together.
The tickets aren’t too expensive, great food, and fun rides. For this park being so old it is excellent. But, it’s just a little sketchy that a couple planks on the Big Dipper were being held up by duct tape 😂. But, it’s also very nostalgic. Definitely brings back some good memories! But overall, it’s a great park and definitely recommend coming!
It is looking a bit on the rough side but my girls still love it. I like that it's small enough to not be over whelming. Not spending a fortune to stand in lines. Hopefully the big dipper will be back up and running our next visit
Great local place with lots of history. But that's what ruins the place kinda. They try to preserve old stuff and never fix it. There were accidents here before and might be more in the future. You'll probably be fine but if you're anxious just don't go.
Looks are deceiving with this place! We decided to stop on our trip through WV last weekend. The place looks pretty run down, with overgrown weeds, buildings & rides that haven't seen any updates in a very long time. Even though the rides were a little sketchy looking, once you get past the fear of them falling apart while you're riding them they were fun! We had an amazing day at the park & will probably be back if we ever make it over that way again.
