  • Caumsett State Park is a place where you can do some fishing, biking and trekking. It has beautiful setting with a lot of historical buildings, but you have to be willing to walk. From the parking lot to the beach is two miles. Great for picnics, also if you like horses they have a stable too. The alleys are shared so be careful with the bikes. Fee is collected year round. If I'm not mistaken it is 10$. The area around Cold Spring Harbor is very picturesque with many restaurants for your delight.
  • This is an excellent walking/exercising park for a nice day. There are several paths that you can venture down, but the main one is what we typically walk. It is around a 3 mile walk, but could be more if you take another path. What makes the park unique is the old farms and mansions on the property. The mansions were build in the early part of the 20th century; you can read the history elsewhere. There is a lot of shade in the Spring and Summer time, but I would still bring water. If you forget drinks there is a drink machine and water fountain in the mansions old garage building. We enjoy this park whenever we go. There is an $8 per visit charge. If you have an Empire pass it is free to entry,.
  • It's ok. Not much to see or do but walk the trails. There are some historic buildings. The parking area is quite small and could easily fill up. Parking is free from December to March so it's a decent place to go running. Kinda hard to get to as no main road leads there. No pets allowed.
  • Great place for walking or biking a 2-mile trail. Great scenes by the woods. Mansion, carriage houses, and stable. The main house is the mansion and the best view can be had when looking over the Long Island Sound on a long bench in the back yard of the main house.
  • Great for fall hikes Awesome trails and amazing park in Suffolk county. Nicely manicured grounds. As u walk you can wander down to the water and also a great big Mansion on the grounds. This place def worth the drive and price of admission.
