4.5
The Paragon Park Carousel is a historic carousel at 1 Wharf Avenue in Hull, Massachusetts. The carousel was built in 1928 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company (PTC) as part of the Paragon Park amusement park. It is believed to contain elements manufactured by the Dentzel Carousel Company, whose assets were purchased by PTC in 1928. It is one of 18 four-wide carousels manufactured by the company, and one of only two four-wide pre-1950 carousels in the state. The carousel is housed in a twelve-sided structure, whose scalloped roof provides space for a barrel vault on the carousel. The carousel was operated as part of Paragon Park until the park closed in 1984. Its parts were auctioned off, but most were purchased by a locally organized preservation committee. In 1996 it was moved a short distance to its present location. It is now operated by the Friends of the Paragon Carousel. The carousel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

  • We stayed in Nantasket and stopped at the carousel twice! My 3 year old loved it! There is an arcade right down the street so you could spend a decent time in the area!  more »
  • We went with kids aged 10 mos to 15 years. They all loved it. It was $3/ride or $25 for 10 rides. It is an older carousel but they so a good job keeping it clean while maintaining the history. Each ho...  more »

  • Classic wooden carousel. The kids LOVE it. For my kids no trip to Nantasket Beach would be complete without a ride on the carousel. It's $3 a pop, but the ride duration is good. This is a restored vintage carousel and I love looking at it. Under cover, this is a very good high tide time activity.
  • Nice carousel. The rides are very in expensive and it's a nice escape from the sun on a hot summer day.
  • Rude woman approaches my wife and I and tells us we can take pictures on the carrousel for $100.00. We just got married 10 minutes prior to this on the beach, and this woman was looking to cash in when she seen we had a friend taking pictures for us. She went out of her way to be rude to us, saying we can't even take pictures of the grass in front of the carrousel. The weird thing was that we were just walking by and weren't even planning on walking into the carrousel. I felt compelled to write this review based on the attitude the owner gave us that day. Greedy greedy.
  • A cool place for kids under age 6 way nice price is right and just a fun place to be with the kiddos the lil animals they have are great and come to find out been around since 1950 wow the food is not bad and the train ride is way cool too.
  • Been going here since I was a kid. A beautiful ride with friendly staff.
