  • This park has just about everything I look for as a hiker: good and (some) challenging hiking trails, gorgeous scenery, and friendly hikers/park goers, and secluded areas. The falls area is a nice pla...  more »
  • What don't I love about this park - nothing. The waterfall is gorgeous, the vistas are a joy to view and it is a terrific hike. A great park!  more »
  • We visited this park and waterfall during a hiking trip for our anniversary and were not disappointed (except by the signage and maps of the Wisconsin state parks system). It is best to park in the pa...  more »

  • By far the best waterfall around and in the twin cities. I can't believe I lived here 33 years and never knew about it. It takes a bit of walking to get there but rest assured it is so worth it. The most majestic waterfalls I've yet to see so close to home. From tiny little tide pools to wade in to springs spurting water out of the canyon walls (And the cliffs are breathtaking!) Climbing up rocks with water thundering around you. This place is amazing. Dog friendly. Wear your hiking/water shoes. You will definitely need them!
  • My family loves Willow River. Beautiful park that is well maintained. During the summer weekends, it is full of people out hiking, camping and having fun. Even with the lake currently drained, it's a great place to visit.
  • Great place to cool down on a hot day, kids loved walking behind the water fall. Great hiking and climbing trails here too.
  • Used to be a great place. Haven't been back since they removed the disc course, and built the new ranger station. Used to be just a state park, now it's everything they can do to turn it into a profit center without regard to the landscape or people who try to enjoy it. They used to have a really nice lake, but now it's just a giant mud pit. Wish they'd think these things through before doing them. Taking the dam out at Cty A/E and this one has ruined more fishing spots than anything ever could have. Oh, and btw, a trash can, or two go a long way. just because you don't have cans doesn't mean people will magically not have any trash. Just becomes an inconvenience for everyone. I wonder what happened to all the turtles, and fish? Probably just died, but these "conservationists" probably see that as a good thing.
  • The falls were beautiful! The Willow Falls parking lot is closest to the falls, but be advised: the hill from the lot to the falls is quite steep. If you are "out of shape" it may be difficult.
