Where to stay in Houston

If you come to Houston to splurge while on holiday, book a luxurious room at a downtown hotel. This area is an ideal base for getting to know Houston, offering you a chance to stay within walking distance of one of the country's largest theater districts. Houston bills itself as the "Energy Capital of the World," so it's no surprise that it houses many "green" hotels, their garages designed to cater to electric vehicle owners. For something completely different, enjoy a Texas country experience at a working ranch outside the city limits.

  • Great food and great time bowling. Being a bowler for more than 30 years and having worked at bowling centers, being on the customer side was a good experience.  more »
  • I will start off by saying we had an absolute blast bowling. It was my birthday celebration with an eclectic group of friends, none of whom were regular bowlers. Bar area has a nice vibe with good men...  more »
  • I ordered poutine fries to go. This is what I got for $9.74 (I even tipped, to bring to $11, not knowing this was it!). I contacted them and they said "we understand your frustration......". Whatever.  more »

  • My husband called them to reserve a lane for his birthday. We were on our way there but due to so much traffic and construction, we were a little late for our reserved lane. They did not care and would not listen. They gave our lane away without any warning of any kind. Absolutely HORRIBLE first impression!!! No stars and they will be our last resort for bowling from now on!
  • It's quite a nice/fancy bowling place. It's really more of an upper class bowling experienced compared to most other bowling places I've been to. That being said, the food was quite lack luster (so I guess in that respect it lives up to what bowling is all about... beer, bowling and bad food). Given how most other bowling places have closed down, you don't have too many options especially inside the city. If you want to bowl, this place has it's charms. But I'm not really looking for all the pomp and circumstance this place has when I'm bowling.
  • Unless you read all the fine print and understand it all, they will screw you. I hosted a party here and we had a great time but come bill time, they were unclear about how much was owed when I asked (twice, at the front desk and our server) I was told yes they can split it up between us and yes that is your total for the lane. They misinformed me because not only was my total double what they seemed to charge me (the deposit was non refundable) but also they could not split it up like they said they could. I called Dawn, who is in charge of financials, and she tried to help me but the manager turned out to be greedy and thought that keeping his $60 was worth more than my party of 10 coming back again. Wish I could give zero stars. Pathetic business practice.
  • High end bowling. Sounds weird saying that but it's a nice place with good food. You are paying for a trendy bowling experience. It's also in downtown so the parking can be an issue.
  • My favorite place to go bowling! Service is very friendly and the food is awesome. Great for work events, they will facilitate large parties.
