  • Our family absolutely loves the Houston Museum of Natural Science! This summer was the 3rd year in row that we have visited! They have such a large and varied array of attractions to see from the butt...  more »
  • Very good Exhibits my favorite was the Egyptian. Kept my husband and 5 year old entertained as well. It was $65 for all 3 of us but I think Thursdays are free for the permanent exhibit.  more »

  • You can not really describe your experience here. Soooo much to see. To learn. To imagine. To Wonder about the lives of the creatures you see. What would it have been like to live with some of the more gentle creatures? Great experience.
  • Has fantastic exhibits and there is plenty to see. I would recommend that you take a whole day if you are visiting since there is so much to see. A lot of walking so comfortable shoes are recommended. Even if you aren't a huge science fan, I would recommend going. There are also places like an observatory, 3D theater, a butterfly garden, and places that include interaction.
  • It's been a few years since family and I have been to the Houston Museum, but we should have come sooner! Wonderful new dinosaur hall with so many wonderful exhibits, it's definitely the center piece of the museum. Egypt & Americas Halls are designed to really pull you into the culture and really soak in the knowledge. The Butterfly Exhibit hasn't changed all too much, but given its size and the touch of detail for the environment, you can really enjoy the range of butterflies up close and personal. Wear bright colors and you stand a good chance of some landing on you. Overall great experience to soak in Houston. Surrounding parks and locations can add to the experience. Keep in mind, parking can be a challenge (unless using the paid garages), so expect a challenge in that plus a small walk.
  • I can only say good things about this place. Worth visiting as a local or non local. The oil exhibit, bones mineral and rocks are very educational and the butterfly center is just magical and a treat for yourself!
  • The museum itself may be great, but the on-line ticketing experience SUCKS! The fact is, this museum gouges you for special exhibitions. I was trying to buy tickets online for 2 events: "Mummies of the World", $30, and "Mapping Texas", $25. Both prices include general admission, so you're being charged twice. $20 for parking makes this adventure $75. I was planning to rent a car and drive down from Dallas for the Memorial Day weekend, which would add another $300. With gas, food, and lodging, you're looking at $500+. NO THANK YOU!!! This museum may be a great value for locals, but they need to improve their ticketing experience and prices if they want to encourage out-of-towners!
