  • Went here on a Thursday morning and it was ok. I will choose my words carefully since this is the top Attraction in all of Houston. Pros: 1) I 100% agree with previous reviews that this place has some...  more »
  • We only had about half a day to spend at the museum, so we opted for a private tour and I am so glad that we did! To really see everything in this museum could easily take a full week! The exhibits ar...  more »
  • My family really enjoyed this museum! We paid a little extra for a guided tour of the dinosaur exhibit and it was very informative and interactive. Very memorable experience!  more »

  • Very interesting museum. Would recommend a year pass so you could spend 2-3 hours a month in each exhibit over the course of a year without feeling rushed. Dinosaurs were great! Layout of where each exhibit was could have been better. Went through 2 exhibits backwards. Over all a fantastic experience.
  • ALWAYS a treat to visit! I would suggest that those going to see the mummy exhibits to NOT take children under the age of about 12 unless they are more mature for their age. IF you do take children, please make sure they abide by the museum request to view the exhibits with the respect and dignity deserved. Also, adults and children, please put your CELL PHONES AWAY- this is NOT the place for business calls, phone chats, crazy ring tones, or any other calls/texting- it can wait! OR, just get out of the museum so you're not annoying the folks who actually want to read and learn from the exhibits. Clean restrooms, very nice gift shop, and very friendly, helpful staff in all areas from security to ticket sales to cleaning staff. We'll be going back again as there are so many new features they've improved- like the dinosaur exhibit for example!
  • This place is magic. It's huge, and has a lot of science exhibits and some Texas wildlife exhibitions, but the real treasure is in the basement. The fossils. The basement has a HUUUUGE collection and they organized them according to age, so you can take a literal stroll through history. If I ever go back to Houston I'm gonna take another walk here, more slowly this time to take it all in.
  • One of the best places for a family to go, and worth the membership if you can go 4 to 5 times in a year. There are so many exhibitions comma IMAX theater set up and science shows to review with family that it is a fun place to make a weekend day go by. There is a park nearby, paid parking, and a McDonald's that is yucky inside but there if you need it. So don't let the fancy expensive shop fool you... But its nice too. Go see museum!
  • I'm a history student at UH and I love this place. There are so many artifacts from past civilizations, the exhibit on the evolution of life is world class. And after you've had your fill, you can enjoy beautiful Herman Park right across the street. Truly this museum is a treasure.
