Where to stay in Houston

If you come to Houston to splurge while on holiday, book a luxurious room at a downtown hotel. This area is an ideal base for getting to know Houston, offering you a chance to stay within walking distance of one of the country's largest theater districts. Houston bills itself as the "Energy Capital of the World," so it's no surprise that it houses many "green" hotels, their garages designed to cater to electric vehicle owners. For something completely different, enjoy a Texas country experience at a working ranch outside the city limits.

  • Amazing!! Sushi is spectacular. Try to get at the sushi bar if you can, watching the chefs is so interesting and so much fun. Good for groups if you make a reservation far enough in advance. Definitely coming back.
  • Such a classy place! This is upscale dining done right! Complementary, fresh grated table side, REAL wasabi. The cuisine is as authentic as it gets and every single bite will blow you away. This is a restaurant you definitely want to dress to the nines and have an amazing, romantic date night. The service is remarkable and you literally don't need a menu, just give your server an idea of what you're in to, have faith and let them take care of you. Let's face it, you aren't here on a budget, you are here to indulge in phenomenal Japanese food! Use every single sense and taste bud you have to enjoy your meal, as if you're sampling the finest wine. This is food that deserves to be appreciated, not lost in the laughter of a night out with friends. So brightly lit and chic, yet as intimate as it gets. Quite the opposite of Uchi as far as atmosphere goes, but just as good if not better.
  • Best sushi experience ever, by far in Houston. Make reservations weeks in advance for this experience. We did a special sampling where the chefs decide what to serve everyone at the bar area. Works of edible art. My wife doesnt eat sushi but even she enjoyed it. Chefs very talented, but very expensive. If you want to sample the best it will cost you. You only live once
  • Not only is it an elegant experience, but the servers were very attentive. We didn't have a reservation, but we got seated at a booth, anyway. The food was light and tasty, as you would expect Japanese food to be. Not only was it exquisitely prepared, but it was very tasty. I guess the only caveat is that if you're really hungry (and are a typical American), you may want to eat someplace else, because we had to get two plates each, and dropped a little over $130.00 on dinner for 4, including one appetizer. But for delicate eating, this is one of the best Japanese/Sushi restaurants I have been to, and it's conveniently located near me in the Museum District. Definitely worth going again, but maybe for a mid-afternoon snack...
  • Had to write a review for one of the best experiences of my life. MF Sushi has that calm soothing environment going but also with live enthusiasm from everybody dinning. It's awesome, and the staff is wonderful. I'm DEFINITELY going to recommend this awesome restaurant to all my family and friends. Couldn't ask for a better dinning experience.
