  • Our tour guide Helen was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the house and on the grounds. She was able to talk about anything we had questions about or expressed interest in. The house has artifacts not only from its own history but from the area's history. The slave quarters at the entrance is supposedly haunted, but that portion is self-guided. It would have been cool to know the ghost stories. The gift shop is also very nice. I wanted a themed snowglobe for a gift, but they focus more on the culture of Louisiana than just self-promotion.
  • A deep and rich depository of our local heritage.
  • Went to the craft fair. Had a really nice time. We didn't eat at the fair but we did go to every booth of vendors! Lots of variety and very reasonable prices!
  • They nickle and dime you to death. A sure way to run people away from the craft fair is to charge an entry fee. And what do you get for that? A chance to spend more money.
  • The tour is $15/each for college students and Ed was the best guide ever ! Was worth every penny ! I learned so much from him because he use to live there as a young child! Not only do you learn the history of the plantation but you learn about the wider world events that shaped the plantation! Oh yea you get to see a real shrunken head !
