  • Very nice, clean state park. The trails are my favorite, especially the trail to the falls. The lake is a lot of fun too. Very easy to navigate.
  • I visited the park 9/30/16 through 10/2/16 with 30+ friends. The majority stayed in tents and a few of us stayed in cabins. The cabin was very clean, had a great covered porch in one section with nice...  read more »
  • The park was so peaceful even though there were families everywhere. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The hiking was fun but you need to be in decent shape even for the red trail.
  • My girlfriend and I camped here for a few days and just loved the place. Our site was right on the lake with a beautiful view. The bathrooms were clean and stock with TP and paper towels. Warning-Keep your cooler in your vehicle or camper at night. The raccoons are brutal here and will eat and steal every scrap of food that is not locked up. We were hit hard and our neighbors lost about $200 in meat. They have canoe and boats rentals as well. Great place to camp.
  • Great hiking trails. Some reviews did mention a power plant. I did find that unfortunate although you can't see it but towards the end of the trails. It would be rather distracting if you had a cabin or camp site facing the plant. For me, it wasn't a big deal as I was there to hike. Right now, at the beginning of Aug, the waterfall is more like a trickle. Don't expect a grand display at this time of year. Note that you will not likely have cell signal. Make plans and decide on meeting points ahead of time if you're meeting up with people there.
  • Loved the shade, tall pine trees provide a canopy over just about the whole campground. there is stuff to do. the trails are pretty good, and the view from the top!... it's worth it! And what's all this complaining about having electricity? do people think it just comes out the plug?! it has to be generated somewhere, and I don't what to hear the "ruined view," "messed up skyline," "natural beauty lost" or what ever ungrateful folks say. What are some of the best pictures? landscape pictures are taken of huge cities all the time and they do great! if you think one little bity power plant is an eyesore... Hike to the top of the Remmel Dam trail and just look, the power lines going for miles and kilometers and many many inches is just amazing! You can follow from the plant out over the top of hills, its just spectacular, actually seeing the lines go out. Hammock, Tent, or open air camping, and oh yeah RV's its all good. some of the roads (probably all) could use some repair, the bath houses are pretty nice, the waterfall is seasonal, so don't expect a gushing current in the middle of August, its still a beautiful scene but its not always flowing a ton.
  • Staff keeps the place well maintained and were always very nice. Park is breathtaking in every way EXCEPT THE POWER PLANT ACROSS THE LAKE. Unbelievable to me that this was only mentioned 2 other times in the reviews. I drove 300 miles to stare at a power plant. Nobody else there seemed to mind, but they were all locals so I guess they are use to it. Also, the rent a camp was awesome except that there were 2 seperate beds. Which is not ideal for couples. The sleeping situation as well as the power plant were not made known. But the stag were exceptional.
  • Was so peaceful. Loved the screened in porch. We stayed in #16. Caught lots of fish and turtles. Grilled out on the side deck. Only negative; need better lighting to get to the cabin, it was pitch black!
