  • Check walking around & petting kangaroo off your bucket list here (if it’s not on yours, it should be)! We spent a lot of time in with the kangaroo & emus, loved seeing the joeys in their pouches. The...  more »

  • I absolutely love Kentucky down under. My wife and I try to go at least once or twice a year and last time invited my cousins along. The birds are hilarious and will actually talk back to you and they have a lemur area which are my all time favorite animal. But the best part is the kangaroo walkabout. You actually get to interact with the kangaroos, they are amazing. Plus Kangaroo Billy can tell you all about him, he's really passionate about them which I think is awesome.
  • The best part of our trip to Mammoth Cave! We thought this would be a non-noteworthy cave with a few goats and critters in a pen nearby - but we were delightedly wrong. The place is basically a small zoo which happens to have a small but beautiful cave in it. Friendly dogs roam the property and you can visit and pet Kangaroos (with Joeys in their pouches), emus, and various exotic birds (I recommend paying the $1 to attract them with a cup of food). They also have free shows - we greatly enjoyed watching the sheep herding. It's all outdoors, so you'll want to visit when the weather is cooperating.
  • This is such a great place to visit!! I brought my boys & they all loved it, from the toddlers to the teenager. Plan for several hours, so you're not too rushed to see all the animals & experience the whole area. There's a great cave tour (long enough to experience it but not too long to lose interest ;). The highlight of the place was getting to feed & pet the kangaroos!! I think it's the only place in North America where you can pet kangaroos. They were like big cats, just napping & soaking up the sun. The lorie cage is cool, too. :) Highly recommend!!
  • Our family had so much fun. Starting with a visit to see the the parrots where they talked and demonstrated their individual personalities. The keeper shared bird stories and educational information for the kids. Feeding and petting kangaroos was a neat experience- especially those that gently held your hand as they ate out of it. Also, feeding the birds was pretty awesome. It's not every day birds will land on your head, shoulders and hands! There is a cave tour, but it is small and not the draw to the zoo.
  • Such an excellent experience! A bit pricey, but you can tell they love and take care of the animals! They take in birds who wouldn't have a home and such friendly dogs walking around. We even had one help us tour the cave! Golf cart optional and I don't think we needed it, but it was fun to ride around. Get there early! Easily spent 3-4 hours there and would recommend it to anyone.
