Land of Make Believe & Pirate's Cove, Hope

Offering a variety of rides and water attractions, Land of Make Believe & Pirate's Cove offers activities that are ideal for children younger than age 12. First opened in 1954, the amusement park has a long history and is reminiscent of decades past. Try out some of the rides, including the junior-sized roller coaster, Tilt-A-Whirl, merry-go-round, and the Civil War train that loops around the park. If rides aren't your cup of tea, visit the Petting Zoo or take in the interactive Middle Earth Theater, mazes, and hayrides. Water attractions like the Lazy River, wading pool, and waterslides keep you cool. Recently the park installed some more thrilling water rides, such as Pirate's Plunge and the Black Hole, which may be more attractive to parents or teens. Outside food is allowed inside, so bring a cooler if you like. To visit Land of Make Believe & Pirate's Cove on your trip to Hope, use our Hope trip builder website .

Excellent Time! I was a little skeptical taking our seven year old grandson here as I thought one of us would be bored. But we all had a great time. Grandma went on the 'spinny' rides, I took him on t...  more »

Today I visited LOMB for the first time in—40 years?—with my 8-year-old son. We had a ball. Despite arriving at noon on a Friday, the place wasn't crowded at all. The staff were friendly and polite to...  more »

We won tickets in a raffle to come here. It was a two hour drive but something to do. My daughters are 8 and 11 and had a lot of fun and they loved mining for gems. If someone expects an experience li...  more »

It was great! The park was clean. Plenty to do, all 3 kids had fun doing their own thing. The staff could have handled lost children a little better. As we were on the lazy river, there was a lost little boy ready to jump in the river from the ledge. The girl kept blowing her whistle at him. I was able to get close enough to the little boy and get him on the other side of the rope as my husband was sitting and help him find his parents...

Just a nice, wholesome place to visit with the kids. My daughter loves to ride the carnival style rides again and again. We got a season pass- what an amazing deal. The water park is heavy on the kids stuff but that lazy river is just lovely

Food is not good. But you can bring your own food if you want to which is cool. We went before they opened to the public and for that reason the lazy river was not open which was a BIG let down. Otherwise it's a great place for a child to have fun for a day.

Great, safe and full of fun place. Came twice on weekdays to avoid crowds and loved it! Plenty of water slides and water activities to stay for 4-6 hours.

The place recently turned sixty, and while still generally fun, shows its age. It's a kiddy park with old fashioned amusments and characters that cater to the very young of days gone by. They've got a small water park and pirate ship, lazy river, and a few water slides for older children. The rest stands essentially unchanged for the better part of a decade and a half. As such, it might be a little boring for anyone over or under the ages of eight and eighty. They have good quality fast food and sweets, but those looking for convenience or modern amenities are in for a few let downs. The park is discover card or cash only, with no option to purchase tickets online, and strict rules regarding the type of food you can bring in (no coolers in the waterpark). Attractions are very dated, rides are a little warn down, and from what I've heard staff could be doing better when it comes to customer service, attitude, and overall cleanliness. In spite of such, they're set in their ways, and show little initiative when it comes to changing for better or worse. The place has a nice history, and if such continues, might eventually become part of it.
