Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, formerly known as Regions Park, is a former minor league baseball park located in the Birmingham, Alabama, USA, suburb of Hoover. It was home of the Birmingham Barons of the Southern League from 1988 to 2012, replacing historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham. The stadium also serves as the home for the SEC Baseball Tournament, as well as the primary home for Hoover High School football. It is located in the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Area near Interstate 459 at Exit 10 just off Alabama State Route 150. The stadium is located three miles from the Riverchase Galleria, one of the south's largest shopping centers. The seating capacity is 10,800 for baseball and can accommodate up to 16,000 when the patio, banquet, and grassy side areas are used. The stadium also houses 12 suites and state-of-the-art dressing and training rooms. The stadium also features a meeting/banquet room named for Michael Jordan, who played for the Barons during his brief foray into professional baseball, during which time the stadium experienced its largest crowds for professional baseball.

  • We decided to see public fireworks and knew the parking would work well at the Hoover Met. The short walk from the car worked fine for my husband who uses a cane. Security pointed to the entrance whic...  more »
  • Best place in the state to watch a high football game. Lots of parking, nine or ten ladies restrooms, concessions everywhere and no bad seats in stadium. In and out quickly. Looks like college venue.@...  more »

  • Did you know that just bear the Hoover Met is an RV Park? My daughter and her family have been staying there temporarily as they refurbish a home. It is quiet, convenient and has the amenities traveling families are looking for.
  • I worked at The Met for 32 Hours starting before the first of the year. I have left message after message. I got someone saying she been out. So if she is out for 3 weeks nobody gonna get paid? 32 hours last day January 9. Is it because I was a homeless Veteran before? Your more than welcome to contact over Facebook since phone call is so hard. I even left messages on voicemail and talking with a person for my supervisor to call or someone. Twice she was there but an event was going to call after...NOPE. Guess events are more important. My power is off its cold. I was hired for security, between 30-40 hr. a week. 6 weeks 32 hours, manual labor. Thanks
  • Very nice place, the gun and knife show was great fun. Show was well organized.
  • Parking was terrible...took an hour to get out. Very disorganized. Field and facilities were good.
  • Best and cleanest place to watch football and baseball and band. Go hoover high....
