This was an amazing oasis in our travels from Ft. Collins to ABQ! Clean, quiet, peaceful, absolutely stunningly, breathtakingly beautiful sunrise and sunset, the hot spring pool was just what we neede... more »

We found this hidden gem due to a local's recommendation. We went to the greenhouse part, which is separate from the large family pool area. There were 4 adults in our party so we really appreciated t... more »

Camped here for one night and also spent about three hours in the pool. Our 9 and 10 year old children had a great time and so did we. It was so nice to have actual diving boards which provided more e... more »

This place was so damn cool. A really smart idea, they converted hot springs into a fun pool for people of all ages. You pay to get in, and have access to a large pool for both adults and kids, including a diving board, its the "coldest" pool there at 98°, then there's a smaller Therapy Pool, for people ages 15+, that's about 107°. There's a food stand with fries and such, as well as a cute gift shop with ice cream treats. For those 21+, you can pay a little more to get into the back area where only adults are allowed, you can get alcoholic drinks, and there are a bunch of different small hot tubs (ranging from 100°-113°), a sauna, and plenty of lounging chairs. Such a cool idea!

We just returned from a two night stay at this campground. It's a nice enough place, they are clearly putting in effort to try to make it a nice place, and it shows... BUT people should know that the POOL WATER IS NOT COOL and refreshing - it's HOT HOT HOT! The photos make it look like a cool dessert oasis, but there is no place to cool off at this campground - anywhere. Everything is HOT, the showers are HOT, tap water is HOT, and the POOL IS VERY HOT! There is no cold water available anywhere at this campground. After spending the morning and early afternoon at the Sand Dunes we were looking forward to cooling off in the pool. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we jumped into a 100+ degree swimming pool. It would be nice if they would make this information really clear on their website. Other campers I spoke with had no idea they were going to a HOT springs pool either. It wasn't made clear. Hot springs pool is noted in very small, blue letters on blue background, on their website. The whole vibe of their website is cool, but that's not the case. If you don't mind HOT HOT HOT this would be a fine place to stay.

We camped in the tent only section of this property and couldn't have been more pleased. I was traveling with 3 adults and one child. The price was more than was reasonable, the bathroom facilities were clean (coin operated showers- 6 minutes for 50 cents). In good proximity to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Unlike some other reviewers, I was fully aware that the pool was heated from natural springs from reading it on the website. After spending a very warm afternoon at the dunes, the temperature cools off pretty quickly and the pool felt pretty amazing, even at 98 degrees (the temperature dropped to around 50 degrees that night). The atmosphere and having the back drop of the Sangre De Cristo mountains was just breathtaking. I have no reservations recommending this facility. It's like a little oasis in the middle of nowhere. Loved it.

Me and my family lived it here, everything is reasonably priced. The pool is amazing and there are things for infants to seniors. One thing to caution is that since the pools are fees threw hot springs the water is 98 degrees in a 110 day. I would highly recommend this 5 star!

We were there a week before Memorial Day weekend. We brought our van that has popup so we got a dry RV site (no electric hookup, no water, etc). None of the dry RV sites have any shade but we did get a picnic table, fire pit and nice neighbors. We were close to some of the tent sites. We used to tent camp so I was disappointed with the tent sites. There is no space between neighbors and no picnic tables. Also, I did not see any fire pits. Not all tent sites have parking space for your car which I thought it was odd. I came out around 1am to go to the bathroom and the frogs are loud. I would not recommend to get a tent site near the pond unless you don't mind the frog sound and want more room for a tent and a place to park your car. The bath and laundry house has only two bathrooms. Each bathroom has a shower, sink and a pay shower. They are clean but in the morning there is a line of people waiting to use the bathroom. People were taking a long time in the shower and/or doing their morning business. While waiting in line, some of us thought the pool house might be open early because of lap swimming at 8am. They did not come back so I assume that you could use the bathrooms in the main pool house after 8am. I did not use the pool but my husband did use the Greenhouse (adult only). He thought it was a bit crowded with adults but the facility is nice. The main pool seems fun with lots of family enjoying it. There is a grill so you can have food while hanging out at the pool. There is also a gift shop if you forget suntan lotion or other accessories. If you forget your swimsuit, you can rent a swimsuit for $1. No excuse not to use the pool. Great for family fun but not so great for camping.
