Puu Ualakaa State Park, Honolulu

(4.4/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Hike, meditate, read a book, picnic, or just enjoy the view from the green grass of Puu Ualakaa State Park, where Elvis filmed "Blue Hawaii.” Take photos of panoramic views of Diamond Head, the Pacific Ocean, and the city of Honolulu from this "rolling sweet potato hill.” Quiet, clean and refreshing, with the scent of eucalyptus in the air, the park is well equipped with restrooms, drinking water, picnic shelters, hiking trails and free parking. Look out for feral cats and mongooses running around. Drive up and down the hill carefully since the road is very curvy. A visit to Puu Ualakaa State Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Honolulu vacation planner to plot your vacation.

  • Night spots in Hawaii. Overlooking the beautiful night view. Visit everytime doesn't mean, but once in a while Hawaiian night ~! Want to feel it so. Very sunny of course. But I preferred to drive or take a tour, as well as public transport links.

  • I visited on tours dinner cruises and all-inclusive. Word of mouth as a stunning night view stretches. People go, car rental go please feel way too wide and dark.

  • Limited height can climb every time you go take pictures during my first visit to Hawaii until the Summit climb in a limousine, but in the interest of the residents is now about halfway up. Might be a luxury residential area so natural treatment.

  • One of the best places to go if you want to witness an amazing, picturesque view but don't want to make the hard hike up a mountain. The road up is a single lane road with a few twists and turns so be careful driving on this road, but at around 10 minutes, it's a relatively short drive up. Once you're there you get a stunning panoramic view of Honolulu, Diamond head, and all the cities around it. Absolutely beautiful.
  • My absolute favorite place on the island, great views. Also fun to get up there, whether hiking or driving.
  • We went at night. Beautiful views, however once the sun goes down the drive up the mountain is harrowing. Several miles from the top street lights cease and you're making hairpin turns without being able to see the sides of the road.
  • A best place to overlook diamond head and Honolulu. Amazing views!!!!!
  • Best lookout to see all of Honolulu all the way to Diamondhead. Great at night.
