(500+ reviews on the web)
Nature / Park
Celebrate the famed Hitachi tree and view lesser-known plants when you visit Moanalua Gardens Park. The 9 hectare (24 acre) park is known as the home of the massive umbrella-shaped monkeypod tree, famous in Japan as the Hitachi tree. Have a picnic in the shade, and if you time your visit right, watch some hula dancing in the park. Stop by the Kamehameha V Cottage while you are there, once the home of Prince Lot Kapuāiwa, who became King Kamehameha V. Head to the gift shop before you leave if you want to purchase items with the Hitachi tree logo on it. • Want to see trees in Japan are very famous, so I visited the... Feeling somewhat soothing to the size of the tree and I got power. Blueness of the sky looked down on because it had a bench and wood are very beautiful. Enjoyed the atmosphere while sleeping

  • There is a famous commercial of Hitachi group tree. Lots of trees located in the Park. Please stop by when you drive in the direction of North Shore from Waikiki on the way there. Japanese is a familiar tree, impressed.

  • This is completely out of the way and many people (other than Japanese tourists) will possibly get here. It's known in Japan for the home of "Hitachi tree". It's a tree that the Japanese company, Hitachi, used in their commercials during 1973. It's now become symbolic of the company and for this reason, many Japanese tourist come to seek it out. If you're reading this and make it here, you'll find you're probably one of the few tourists who isn't Japanese.
  • Beautiful large trees and wide open spaces. This is a lovely park, we visited after the rain and there was a bit of mud. Great if you have a preschooler who loves running from one huge tree to another. There are fish and ducks to feed. After exploring the 24 acres there isn't much to do, bring a picnic and just enjoy being outside.
  • Great green open fields for picnics. It's surrounded by natural rivers. My favorite spot is the pond by the taro patch. The pond is filled with fish and ducks.
  • Beautiful park and a great place to take th e family for a picnic. No pets and no alcoholic beverages. Very peaceful atmosphere
  • Nice large park, lush and green with koi ponds and group of ducks that you can feed. Avoid rainy or wet days, not to many pathways or sidewalks and it gets messy. Don't forget bug spray for the mosquitos.
