Fort DeRussy Beach Park, Honolulu

4.5
#7 of 35 in Parks in Honolulu
Featuring a wide expanse of soft, white sand, Fort DeRussy Beach Park is a great place to relax and play. The generally calm waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. If you don't have a snorkel set but want to see the coast's collection of coral and colorful fish, rent one from a nearby beach hut. Bodyboards and kayaks are also available for rental. On shore, you can play a game of volleyball or unwind with a book in the grassy, shaded area. Cool down with a classic Hawaiian shaved ice from the stand outside the Hale Koa hotel. • One of my favorite beaches in Waikiki. It's pretty chill, unless you go during the weekend. With volleyball courts, water sport rentals, plenty of space to soak up the sun, and lots of flater water for SUP boarders, it's easy to stay at this beach for hours.
  • Beautiful park that u can cross while walking from Hilton Hawaiian Village or Ilikai towards Waikiki. Beautiful trees w/flowers and most interesting tree trunks.
  • great location. they had great food and drinks offered. The parking space was good too.
  • Nice grassy area nestled in between some hotels right on Waikiki Beach. A nice place to throw down a blanket rest and relax.
  • Beautiful park with much greenery. The relaxing atmosphere is a much needed change from the busy life of Oahu.

Where to stay in Honolulu

Most of Honolulu's luxury hotels and oceanfront condos are located in Waikiki, the city's most popular neighborhood. Staying in this area keeps you within walking distance of one of the world's finest beaches, but it also means paying a bundle for your room and board. To avoid high rates and big crowds, consider the budget hotels outside Waikiki's busiest areas. Smaller hotels just a short drive from the city's beaches offer comfortable rooms and good food at a fraction of the price of their Waikiki equivalents.
