  • Second trip to Dukes, first in Kauai and second time in Honolulu, and it is a must do if you visit Hawaii. My friends and I did a 10 day trip to Hawaii, and had some of the "Best Seats in the House". ...  more »

  • Duke's lane looks sketchy a time night, it's down at an alley and there are several points of entry and exit so take care To watch where you enter from or it's easy to get turned around with all the d...  more »

  • If you're the type of person that enjoys kitschy made in China souvenirs that you can find at the airport but you need to barter for then go right ahead. This was a great experience it was fun seeing all the merchants but I would never buy anything here. If you do I recommend starting at about half of what they're asking and then go from there. I was offered sometimes $100 less for the same item that my wife was at one stand. Interesting place to visit nonetheless
  • A taste of the old International Marketplace that we wish was still there!!! Got Hawaiian luggage to bring home all my souvenirs. Would recommend anyone who wants to bargain to shop here. This is the old Hawaii I remember from my childhood.
  • Great place to grab souvenirs if you can't make it to the flea market. T-shirts are as cheap as 8 for $20!
  • I personally prefer the convenience and comfort of air conditoned malls so this is not for me. But if you want to peruse for trinkets and other souvenirs it is not a bad spot. I miss the impressiveness of the old market that was torn down.
  • Great food and price was to match. Try and get out to a local shop, but if you want the VACA spot to eat, Dukes is a cool place.

Where to stay in Honolulu

Most of Honolulu's luxury hotels and oceanfront condos are located in Waikiki, the city's most popular neighborhood. Staying in this area keeps you within walking distance of one of the world's finest beaches, but it also means paying a bundle for your room and board. To avoid high rates and big crowds, consider the budget hotels outside Waikiki's busiest areas. Smaller hotels just a short drive from the city's beaches offer comfortable rooms and good food at a fraction of the price of their Waikiki equivalents.
