  • About a 1hr bus ride from Waikiki via The Bus public transit system ($2.50 one way), the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet was more tourist gifts rather than second hand stalls on my visit (a Saturday, noon). L...  more »
  • Many vendors under tents in the football stadium parking lot. Get there early since there are so many vendors you will run out of time. This is also close to Pearl Harbor; which we visited in the morn...  more »
  • Please be prepared to have a blast spending not very much money. Get anything from food to clothing to musical instruments. Highlights for me was the lihing fruit and the souvenirs!  more »

  • I love the swap meet. But the woman always selling food at the smaller concession stand is SO rude. Every week she has major attitude problems with literally every customer. She needs to go already.
  • The are usually 4 rings to this marketplace. The outermost ring usually sells cheap t-shirts, Hawaiian souvenirs of all kinds, and dried food. The second ring has toys, technology, phone accessories, and as of July 2017, Fidget Spinners! The third ring has a lot of food items to include some grocery like a farmer's market and military gears. The most inner ring is like a garage sale with people selling their old stuffs. This is only the general positioning but of course there will be different stands throughout the rings. The entry is $1 per person. Bring some snacks and water or eat before going because there will only be very expensive concession stands available. They also have shaved ice and fresh coconut throughout the rings. The day will be hot so bring sun screen or umbrella or go super early in the morning. Tourist advice: Don't plan your day there for more than 3 hours. You will feel like a waste of time. But do go there and check out the swap meet.
  • Always love coming here. They always have everything I need and more. A must for everyone to visit! I highly recommend it
  • Love the swap meet. Bought a Speer gun for 45 dollars and the cheapest lei's on the island.
  • A MUST stop if you are looking for great prices on trinkets from the islands during your visit. If you find it in the gift shops you will mostly find it here and it will cost less. T-shirts, carry bags, jewelry, carvings, decals, and more. Food vendors as well as souvenirs. Fresh fruit, shave ice, fresh coconuts, pineapple bread - YUM - delicious and moisture - look for it you can buy 1/2 or whole loaves, local jams, etc.... Wear good walking shoes and bring some water. Fun afternoon for a $1.

Where to stay in Honolulu

Most of Honolulu's luxury hotels and oceanfront condos are located in Waikiki, the city's most popular neighborhood. Staying in this area keeps you within walking distance of one of the world's finest beaches, but it also means paying a bundle for your room and board. To avoid high rates and big crowds, consider the budget hotels outside Waikiki's busiest areas. Smaller hotels just a short drive from the city's beaches offer comfortable rooms and good food at a fraction of the price of their Waikiki equivalents.
