  • I did not actually attend the stadium, but rather the swap meet in it's parking lot. The swap meet was full of neat trinkets, art, and food. There were a few chains with repetitive booths, which was disappointing, but many booths were locally owned and operated. Art ranged from Oriental fans to hand carved statues. Food-wise, there were many fresh fruits, unique taffy, and nuts.overall, the swap meet was fun and I only deduct a star because the booths' contents get repetitive as you progress though the event.
  • This is for the swap meet. Used to love coming here as a kid, over the years what used to be hand made items have now become cheap products from overseas. Don't bother walking all the way around. In a small section you can see all that is offered now. There's still a few that have stuck to Hawaiian own, mostly the food vendors though that btw are awesome.
  • Went to the Aloha Bowl here on Christmas Eve. Ultimately, this is a run down stadium that's too large for its purpose. However, the colors of the seats are beautiful and the lack of crowds allowed me to walk down to some really good seats. The stadium could certainly use some upgrades, but it is definitely comfortable enough to see a game in 2018.
  • Went here for the swap meet. Different vendors selling products ranging from t-shirts, tikis, jewelry, and many more things. Swap meet opens at Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. $1/person at entry point. $15 if you're a vendor. Go early at 5am for sales. Bargain, bargain, bargain. Bathroom is available too. Food vendors are also there. Great place to bargain and sometimes the vendors will give you discounts but be firm and stand your ground if they push you to buy things ( I unfortunately experienced it and it was funny, we spent $70) 🤦🏽‍♀️😂.
  • Old stadium that's hanging on by a thread. Needs updating but it's clean and presumably safe. The parking lot is getting in bad shape and doesn't accommodate the crowd if it's at capacity. Some have to park outside on the streets. The food is horrible but you can't sneak your own in. The prices are ridiculous for everything, especially for what you get. I try to eat before I go there. Even the bottled water is expensive. Be careful using the stairs they are very steep. The seating is not very spacious so you can't have too many items with you. As with all large venues these days, you will be searched and no weapons of any kind are allowed here. No outside food. The seats are old and hard. Day sporting events, expect to get cooked if the sun is out or wet if it rains day or night. No umbrellas or selfie sticks are allowed in. Parkas only. If you come by tour or public bus, don't bring prohibited items. You will have to dump it in the trash or you won't be allowed in. There are no pay lockers at this stadium, duh, you would think they would figure that one out. Good luck.

Where to stay in Honolulu

Most of Honolulu's luxury hotels and oceanfront condos are located in Waikiki, the city's most popular neighborhood. Staying in this area keeps you within walking distance of one of the world's finest beaches, but it also means paying a bundle for your room and board. To avoid high rates and big crowds, consider the budget hotels outside Waikiki's busiest areas. Smaller hotels just a short drive from the city's beaches offer comfortable rooms and good food at a fraction of the price of their Waikiki equivalents.
